Nice article in this morning's USA Today about Tyler Tettleton.  I like the national attention our prgrams are getting.

Sounds like he will get his chance today as it appears that Dovell, Foster and Futrell are going to sit out of the scrimmage.  He's the only one of the 4 mentioned with no catches in games yet so I'm anxious to see how he does today. If he can perform against our DB's then I would be confident he will do well against the rest of the MAC.  This will be true of any of our receivers...

Sounds like Cochran has been doing pretty good (spring and so far this fall) but we really need that big X factor guy like Price and Brazil.,  Hopefully one of these guys will be the one...

I don't think there's going to be a Price or Brazil type in this crew, but that doesn't mean they can't be effective. It will be interesting to see how a more "balanced" receiving corps plays out with Tettleton to distribute the ball. I think we'll be just fine!

Despite OUr having had an NFL caliber WR last year and reliable alternatives, I never perceived our offense to be pass oriented or dependent upon a big play wide-out.  I agree that we'll be just fine.  It's a possession scheme and while the receivers will have chances to make big plays, we mostly need them to catch the ball and move the chains.  If they do that, I think T2 and Beau and company can handle it from there.  With another year or experience

Excellent article and exposure for Tyler and OUr program.

I agree that the overall depth in our receiving corps will help compensate for the lack of an NFL caliber guy.  But who knows, like you guys say, we may have a Brazil type waiting to emerge.

I think #3 will grow into that role pretty quickly this season...He has already shown he has the ability to make some spectacular catches and he's got a lot of extra time under his belt with Tyler in the off season...

Oh and this sucks...

Per Arkley...

"Redshirt sophomore WR Stephane N’goumou has left camp and is not expected to return to the Bobcats.

N’goumou was originally an Iowa signee, but came to Ohio after a year of prep school. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder took a Redshirt in 2010, and appeared in two games last season.

A Rockville, Md. native, N’goumou had struggled over the past year to return from a Lisfranc injury (foot). He was never able to get back to the form he showed before the injury, which came to light in the 2011 fall camp.

“(N’goumou) has never been able to operate with any kind of efficiency out on the football field,” Solich said. “He’s not going to be able to continue.”"

I've been looking forward to seeing him get some significant PT...Hope everything works out for him...

Yes, hopefully he was able to "medically retire" and keep a school scholarship (I don't remember the term for it, but I'm pretty sure that players who pick up injury are allowed to switch to a non-limit scholarship to complete their schooling)
