Can we get a new flag and some concrete cleaner?

Do we have access to a leaf blower to clean up last year's peanut shells?  It's going to take a good
power washer to clean up the moss growing on the concrete.  Surely we will be paining the goalposts,
right?

Paint could make this look nice again.  Are we going to hide the scaffolding?  Where are we going
to get a new ball for the top of our flagpole?

Speaking of flagpoles, maybe we should consider getting a new one?  How about cleaning some
bricks?

Are we going to make our visiters sit in this section again?

I'm not sure what to suggest here...

or here.

Did someone forget to tell our facility maintenance staff about the Ox Roast?  They sure didn't do much
to clean up the place!  I certainly hope they are able to correct these issues before our home season
starts!

Just got back from a week in Maine and on the way out to get the dog from the kennel and back today, i commented that the campus and town looks as bad as I've seen it since we came here in 1979.  Not sure what's doing on but you could bail the weeds in some places around town.  I know there have been drastic cuts in the budget for grounds at OU but considering this was move in weekend, the town and the campus sure weren't very welcoming.  If there is a fraternity or sorority looking for some community service opportunities, mowers, trimmers and rakes would certainly do the trick.

There was a story about this topic in the Athens News last week.  There is going to be a significant push to get campus spic 'n span in several key areas - College Green, Alumni Park, outside football and B-ball facilities - in the next several weeks.  Sounds like they are going to completely redo the College Gate. Painting of College Green building trim and renovation of Galbraith Chapel to take place as well.  Part of issue this summer was storm cleanup activities.

Here's the article and the Vedder in question is Rich's son.  I'd have to agree with his assessment of things.

Walking through the Grover atrium to WellWorks today and noticed Dr. and Mrs. McDavis visiting  with some folks off to the side.

Hope they didn't have to use the restrooms.

I noticed many of the things mentioned in these pictures last night as well. Peden is REALLY starting to show it's age.

Just walking around the concourse, going to the restroom and meandering in the stands showed to me how far we are behind the "big time" in regards to facilities. There are some parts of that stadium that seem they are straight out of the 1930's. The bricks are in dire need of a powerwash, and there is so much rust on the concrete.

Beyond these major problems, it would be nice to at least get the food cleaned out of the stands. You're telling me they didn't find time to do that in the last 9 months?? I'm sorry, but that's inexcusable.

Didn't make the Ox Roast last night, but those pictures are just terrible. I can't believe Peden has gotten that bad in the off-season. For all the talk about increased ticket sales, all these new fans may be sorely disappointed with our humble facility. I hope that they dedicate some time to cleaning up the stadium over the next 2 weeks.

Too bad it wasn't addressed before the OX Roast. But I don't think it will look like that for the first game.

I'm sure moss and peanut shells will be taken care of, but paint and pressure washing probably will not.

This is what it looks like every year at this time.  They never do the cleaning and the touch up to the stadium until the week or two before the first home game.  Otherwise they would have to pay for it to be cleaned and touched up at the end of the season and then again right before the season anyways.  Rather than do it twice they just do it right before the season.  The only difference is someone decided to take pictures and post it.  It will look completely different on gameday.

This sounds about right regarding Peden.  But the rest of campus looks like crap.  The newish VP Finance/Administration is planning a major "deferred maintenance" cleanup of campus.  Cleaning up after the guy he replaced me thinks.

Do you wait to unclog the toilet until the next time you need to use it?
