The rule: choose one player that was not a significant contributor last season.

Last season's sleeper might have been Foster, Keith Moore, Hastings or perhaps even Tettleton.

So lets see...for my pick I'm going to look to a position that is recently vacated by an all-time great, middle linebacker. Early in the season, I expect that we'll see a lot of Moore but as the season goes on I suspect he'll be moved around quite a bit. So we have 3 options here: Russell, Stefanski and Edmond.

I'm going to go out on a limb and pick Tim Edmond as my 2012 sleeper. Why him you ask? Why not!? He was a highly touted recruit once upon a time. He's built like a tank, 6-0 250. And frankly I haven't seen him on the field yet, so the added mystery bumps him up a few notches.

Ok, your turn!

I'm going to go with Daz Patterson, though I was tempted to pick Kendric Smith.

Chase Cochran, but based on some tweets, this might be too easy of a pick.

I'll also go with Jamil Shaw.

I thought the same thing...Cochran is a bit too obvious.

I wanted to point out that I made this pick before today's blog post that says he's currently #2 on the depth chart. I made the pick because of what I saw in "Relentless". I liked his attitude, and in the action shots I was impressed by his ability to read and use blocks, not to mention, to hide behind the blockers. I think he's the real deal, and he's just going to keep getting better.

A hunch..a hope..with no specific factual basis:  Aaron Macer.

98, Tony Davis. Rosters still show him at 215 lbs. Blog has him at 275.  Mr. Davis must be a load now.  Kind of growth Joe Fladind displayed, though, I think Flading arrived at about 235-240.  69, Kendrick Davis, now at 280, might allow Tony to red-shirt this season.  So many older men on the DL.

I'm picking Kendric Smith. With the new stunts and pass rushing approach of the new defensive line coach I'm predicting this guy will lead the team in sacks. Hard to believe he came in at the last second, virtually out of no where.

Thad Ingol.  Despite our strength at safety, I think he makes an impact for us there.

I'm gonna go with Larenzo Fisher. He looked good at the end of last year, and he's really going to have the chance to step up now that Carrie's Island is out for the year.

My money is on Mike McQueen to have a breakout season.

I think that 215 was just an error, where someone mis-read a "7" and punched a "1". He was 250 in high school. It is very doubtful that he ever actually weighed 215 while at Ohio.

Not a sleeper pick but I think it would be appropriate to pre-apologize to some of our opponents for the havoc that Neal Huynh will be bringing.

Not sure if he is a sleeper. But coming back from injury and with more two tight end sets possibly being incorporated I am going with Troy Hill. Major red zone threat.

Gotta love Larenzo Fisher.  We are going to rely on him now BIG TIME this year.  More of a sleeper for 2012 is Devin Bass.  Playmaker!

I'm liking Derek Roback to have a huge year at the TE spot.

Always been a big Ryan Boykin fan, so hope he finally gets the opportunity this year to really breakout.
A bigger sleeper might be Mose Denton because of his size and versatility he should be on the field a lot.
