The subject line almost says it all.  We arrive in this town not too far from tomorrow's gridiron classic, and I had to go to the local Wal-Mart to get inserts for my shoes.  As I parked in the lot,, I heard someone say in a loud voice, "Ohio."  When I got out of the car I heard these two guys yelling at each other in very heated tones.  One of the guys arguing was a Wal-Mart employee who was gathering up stray carts.  At the point that I got out of the car, he disengaged from the very heated argument and walked over to me.  He says, and I paraphrase, "That idiot doesn't think Penn State deserved the sanctions."  He then explains to me that everyone from the president on down covered the thing up.  I say, "Yes, it is kind of like Watergate, they got the harshest penalties for the coverup."  He nodded in agreement.  I then walked with him and his carts back toward the store.  He told me about PSU students wearing t-shirts saying that NCAA had been inflicting penalties on the innocent (or something like that) for a 100 years.  He thought that was ridiculous.  He then revealed to me that he was actually a Nebraska fan.  I got the idea, though I'm not sure of this, that he wasn't actually from Nebraska, but just had followed the team for years.  He thought the firing of Solich was ridiculous and that their loss was our gain.  His last words to me were: "I hope Ohio wins tomorrow."  Yes, he did say "Ohio," not "Ohio U." or "OU," or some other tag.  The branding is working.   Got to stop this anecdotal story right now, as the wife says we need to go to dinner.   Can't wait until kickoff tomorrow!

Edit: When I get back from dinner I can relay what he said about Paterno and past coverups.
