Think of the cliche "what have you done for me lately?"  We haven't beaten a big name team (like the one he's coaching) for some time.  Temple?  Beneath them.  Utah State, one of our biggest victories because of our history?  Beneath them?  Northern Illinois, Marshall, every other team you can put on our list we've beaten the past few years, beneath them.  Yeah, we played Rutgers tough.  But do you honestly think that O'Brian thinks the Big East are peers to the Big Tendozen?

Just to be clear, the Big East isn't good. Especially not with WVU gone.

Regardless of the opponent, could you ever, in a million years, imagine Frank saying something like this in front of a camera?

Absolutely not and that's one of the myriad of reasons we should be thankful we have him!

Good Gawd I can hardly sit still waiting for this season to get rolling!

They have a handful of starters returning...They're installing completely new systems on both sides of the ball and they're wound so tight it's probably physically painful.  Yeah I can see why you'd be so brimming with confidence you're willing to say something like that in front of a camera.

We'll see how the first player  looking up at G Moore feels about those comments...

LETS GO OHIO!

I can't see Frank saying this on or off camera because I don't think it fits his personality. As I said, I think this is a comment that reveals a lot about O'Brien's personality. Over the last week or two I have formulated an opinion on his personality, and I may be right or wrong, since it is only based on the public appearances. I see him as a cocky perfectionist, one that can be demanding, and harshly critical when you fail to meet his expectations. I said when they announced the ability of players to transfer that it would be a referendum on the new coach, and when nine left, I view that as a sign of an undercurrent of unhappiness, which isn't uncommon under a demanding perfectionist.

With that in mind, I now have an opinion of how the game will play out. I see PSU coming out full bore, with intense emotion, and good precision. Ohio will have a hard time holding up to that initial assault. As Solich said, if the game is decided in the first few minutes, it will probably not be decided in Ohio's favor. If, however, Ohio does hold up early, and particularly if they force some PSU mistakes, I think PSU will not react well, and Ohio has an excellent shot of staying in the game, and winning. I see the same thing for the PSU season - if they win early and often, they will continue to win, but if they struggle early, the season could go very differently.

Does having a former New England Patriot offensive coordinator give Penn State a "schematic advantage"?

If Tom Brady is your quarterback...yes.

I was referencing Charlie Weis's infamous comments on taking the Notre Dame job.

Penn State has so much emotionally riding on this game I feel like in the illustration below Penn State is the first bison and Ohio is the second one.

Nice mention of Ohio Football and Coach Solich on Sportscenter. Pic in background was nice too.

Am I a horrible person for laughing at this and hoping this is what happens on Saturday?

Wonder how O'Brien feels this morning about Ohio "not being interested in tackling"...

He was a real ass in post game interviews - and his face even looks like a butt. Penn State deserves better than this loser. We don't hit hard huh? Really? Tell that to the dude with blood running down his face when his helmet was knocked off.

That dude, PSU rb Day, said something similar to what O'Brien said about Ohio tackling after he got his helmet knocked off in the first quarter. According to one of the ESPN announcers, Day came off the field telling his teammates that Ohio doesn't hit that hard, or something similar. I would like to know if he felt that way about 3 hours later.
