Quite a few naysayers hanging PSU's loss on OHIO "got lucky". Landon Smith's catch off the tip and TD.......... I thought it was nearly "immaculate".

Franco Harris was in the house, wonder if he decided that his original "immaculate reception" was really just a "lucky catch". End of the day/play - you still gotta catch it! And then still score!

Then I guess the INT at the end was lucky, too, since it was tipped.  The fact is, it's only luck if it lands in your lap when you're not looking for it.  If you look at the replay, the ball stayed in front of Smith and he had the presence of mind to follow it and grab.  Nothing but sour grapes from Penn St'ers.

Well, if memory serves, the snap was bobbled, the ball was thrown up for grabs off of Tettleton's back foot and somewhat back across his body.  Two Penn State players were closest to the ball coming down....and we end up with a touchdown.  Everything up until the Penn State tip was almost as bad as a play could be.  After that we did great but I'd say that's as lucky a TD as we will get all year.  It was lucky as so was the Immaculate Reception.

We OWNED the game after that.  I guess maybe the crowd deflated and we had them on closer to equal terms.  A team will set two or three "snaketrap" games a year trying to get the crowd up as possible.  Penn State here knew it would be disasterous to lose yesterday and set one for us and we still won.

Last time I looked at the rulebook, luck (good or bad) was still a legal part of football.  Let them complain all they want, and rationalize their loss, but had the interception occurred, I'm sure that they wouldn't be complaining now.

losers claim lucky catch. Winners talk about the tip drill. Oh nobody on tv or over at PSU mentions how he used his blockers after making the catch either.
