The new AP poll is not out yet. That link just shows updated records of the top 25 from the preseason poll.

I will be SHOCKED if we are not receiving at least some votes. Have to think all of this publicity gave us a few...

Note that almost everyone on the preseason top 25 poll won. The effect may be to solidify who is in, and who isn't, so you may see less teams listed at "getting votes" at the bottom. If the votes went down to 30, I'm sure Ohio would get some votes, but I'm not convinced they will get any votes yet for top 25. Some of the top 25 will have to lose, first, and Ohio will have to remain undefeated.

Among the "Others receiving votes" only Houston and NIU have lost this weekend.  Ga Tech is likely to lose to VaTech tonight and Boise is likely to drop out of the top 25 at least.  There will likely be some who put Ohio in at 24 or 25.

I saw the the first week records posted and incorrectly assumed the poll was also updated. Sorry about that. Maybe we'll get some points and recognition after all.

Here's the newly updated CBSsports.com 124. After you check out the top 25, click Teams 26-124 near the top. We were No. 37 preseason, now No. 26 (with the 122nd strongest schedule).

CBS has WMU at 31 after losing to 42 Illinois.  Give it a few weeks, then we'll see.

Penn State at 40.  Before today I thought the Sagarin ratings were objective and more valid than most.  Ohio head to head with Penn State seems to have no value.  Sorry, Ohio beats PSU 10 of 10 times.  Not saying Ohio is too low, that will be proven, just, PSU is way too high.

Sagarin's takes about 3 weeks to reflect reality. The first week is just some random starting place, which in the case of Ohio, was at rank of 82. After one game, the rating is based on 2/3 the random start, 1/3 the first game. After next week it will be 1/3 the random start, 1/3 the first game, 1/3 the second game. After the third week, the random start will drop out, and no longer have any impact on the ratings.

Not only that, but they climbed five spots, from 36 to 31, after losing 24-7.  Go figure.

Yea, look at Navy, they got slaughtered by Notre Dame 50-10 and moved UP 2 spots from 39 to 37. Navy is next up for Penn State.

Penn State plays Virginia next and then Navy I believe.

Sagarin himself says the ratings aren't worth much until all teams are "connected" and the bias is removed. Be patient.
