I remember my first day on campus in fall 2003 Brian Knorr standing in Nelson Dining Hall trying to give away tickets to the Minnesota game. Everyone lied to his face and told him they already picked their tickets up. It was like a conveyor belt of face-to-face lying to a Division I football coach.

Brian Knorr knew they lied to him. He put on a genteel smile, put his hands through his Ed Begley, Jr.-esque coif and kept peddling his tickets to the triple option show and Fred Ray Fantastic.

Inside he was crying.

Only on the inside, though.

Saddest short story I've ever witnessed.

I have another sad Knorr story. I was eating at "B-Dubs" with a couple of my friends in '02 or '03. They both followed college football, but had no interest in Ohio (important to the story). So we're eating and I'm talking mad $%^& about Knorr and the new post-Grobe apocalypse. Really laying it on, probably speaking loudly, etc..

So we get up to leave and who is sitting one table away enjoying a quiet meal with his family? You guessed it. My friends had no idea what he looked like so they never said a thing. Oh well, I'm sure he's happier these days ;)
