Listening on the internet, I was really impressed with Blankenship's performance tonight.  He got the tough yards when needed and broke out with a huge yardage game (27 carries; 163 yds; 6.2 avg).  Monster performance.

Would like to have seen Patterson's game.  He sounds like another Garrett Wolfe.

Tettleton called another heady game.  No real miscues on his part.

I became less concerned if Vick has to take over for T2 (I hope T2's rib injury isn't serious).  Sounded like he made a few frosh mistakes, but overall he called a solid game.

Carpenter's pick six was super.  Couldn't have come at a better time.

Lots of stuff to work on though.  Too many silly penalties; 10 penalties for 85 yards isn't going to cut it against Terd next week.  Special teams needs to work on protection; another blocked kick.  With NMSU's kickoff return, that's 10 points we lost on special teams tonight.

Not really thrilled with the kick returners tonight. Two times we were very lucky not to start at our own 1 yard line.

Just a few quick thoughts.
-Nice game running from Beau Champ.  He's such a complete RB.  Where was Boykin at this game?
-Good to finally see some pressure from our DL (Crutcher is gonna be a beast).  Turn these guys loose please.
-Kind of scared about our special teams right now, hope we get that straightened out soon.  The snaps and holds look very shaky on FG's.  Kickoff returns must improve also.
-Why do we play such soft zone coverage early in the game.  It hurt us against PSU and NMSU.
-It seems like Nathan Carpenter is always around the ball.
-Donte Foster is quickly becoming a true no. 1 WR.  Now we just need a no. 2 to emerge from Cochran, Futrell, Smith or Bussey.

Yes. This has me worried for next week. Terd can score. If we can't cover, we need pressure from the front 4. It's better than in the past, but not dominant.

Yep. A king's ransom is available to any opposing QB who can exploit this glaring weakness. It's been there for the taking the first two weeks and will prove to be a fatal flaw.

I am a little concerned with special teams play.  We have had multiple kicks blocked, given up a return TD and someone already mentioned the near mistakes by our returners.

Overall though, this is a very good team.  Offense is damn near unstoppable.  TT and BB are freaks.  Great game yesterday.  Thoroughly enjoyed the whole day.  OBC tailgate is a nice addition, 110 stellar as always.

I was most pleased that the defensive line was able to get to the quarterback, especially Crutcher and Davis from their tackle positions. There were plenty of defensive line sacks. Do you think having a D-line coach one year removed from working for the opponent had anything to do with it?

One  D an easily missed turnover on a tipped then dropped INT that wound up costing the first TD.  On O a dropped first pass can be overlooked with a subsequent TD on the same drive.   But these easy plays need to be made because sometime, EVERYTHING will count.  The too many men on the field after a change of possession is bone head.  But it sure is fun to talk about slight improvements in a blowout than to talk about them in seasons past.

I wonder if TT got away with an INT vs a fumble.  I'd wager that if the pass had hit the ground after being jarred lose from the DB that the play would have been ruled incomplete.  But the pass didn't hit the ground, was caught by the LB but shows in the stats as a fumble recovery.  While it looked like the pass was caught by the Ohio receiver, it didn't look like he really brought it in before having it stripped.  Better for the stats to be a fumble than an INT!

What does the replay of the blocked field goal show?  It sure looked like the D rusher jumped the snap and may have had as good a chance at catching the snap as blocking the kick!

Oh, one other need for improvement--the snaps to Vick were making him reach high to grab and on at least one play looked like it may have caused delay in getting the ball handed off so Vick was forced to keep it.
