SI's Stewart Mandel's weekly college football mailbag is often a fun read.  Interestingly, there were THREE questions (probably out of only about 12) that referenced OHIO.  It can be found here.  Love to see our name all over the place (and referred to as OHIO).

I have noticed that we are definitely losing the "U" in most publications I've read. Still getting it on the air out of commentators mouths, but that's to be somewhat expected.

I saw somewhere...can't remember where...a commenter on an article say something along the lines of...

Hey, your article is confusing because you just refer to "Ohio". There are two schools that you could mean: "Ohio State" and "Ohio University". Please try and get it right next time!

This is the first time I've seen an OSU fan whine about the "Ohio" thing. A couple more years like this and the U will be gone forever!

Poor bucknut fan.......all you have to do is add "state" after one of them.  It's really that simple.

The day when we do not have to claw for disambiguation is coming closer!  I look forward to the day where there is a clear understanding like Florida and Florida State.

I was listening to ESPN Radio a few hours ago and they were discussing how many wins Penn State would have.  Kirk Herbstreit said to give us some credit and that we were a good team.  He used "Ohio" several times and never said Ohio U. or Ohio University.  He seemed noticeably reluctant to say just Ohio on Gameday even though Fowler and Corso kept using it.

Leave it to a dim bulb (read: buckeye) to get confused by this.
