Have we heard any updates on Jacoby Jones? I saw him posting pictures and prayers as he was going into surgery on social media Tuesday morning.

Immediate surgery tells me he's done for the year, but what about next? His first year of college was 2019. This was his 5th year. Did he just miss the medical redshirt window?

Don't know if Decker has heard anything? What kind of media availability the team has on a bye week?

Sad to see him go down as our offense was just showing signs of life. Hope one of our other WR can step up in his absence, and he can come back next season.

That's a very nice story, thank you. All three have been a great addition to the team. I hope Jones has a successful surgery, whatever it is, and is back to full speed afterwards.

Especially disappointing that he was injured on an illegal hit by such an undisciplined opponent.

I hope for a successful recovery for him. He'll be missed by the team as I think he's our top threat at WR.

I agree.

Does anyone know the extent of his injury? All I've seen was that he was operated on. This doesn't tell me too much.

How do you write/publish that article without mentioning that Jones broke his ankle last week? Nice writing, poor reporting.

I still haven't heard anything.

The tone of his posts don't sound encouraging. A lot of prayers n such. He posted one a few days ago and said "I hope" to be out there again. When I saw the hit it looked like he broke his lower leg / high ankle. I hope for him its not too bad. Maybe he means he's not closing the door on CFL/XFL/NFL for next season.

Whatever it is, I also hope he's able to be back out there next season. The Missile from Mississauga is gonna need him.

From what I understand, if you play in less than 30% of your team’s games you can medically redshirt. Jacoby did not play in week 0 or 1, so I believe he can come back.

Obviously I hope for his well being he can get back to 100%, but I also hope we get him back for whoever is playing QB next season. Great, big target.

Awful news. This was gonna be a big year for him.

[QUOTE=Cats5] Chase Hendricks just got a bigger role
Luckily, WR is probably our deepest position, so we're probably gonna be okay with Walton and Miles, but replacing that size and speed on the outside is gonna be TOUGH.

Hopefully, between Hendricks, Rhone, Hilton, (maybe Ricky Hunt can slip into the slot for some screens) they can duplicate some of those skills, and the additional reps Dixon can develop the next stud at WR. If Jacoby comes back, WR2 is literally wide open.

Honestly thought Rhone would play more than what he has. Could be a really nice red zone target.

Anyone know his story? Is he a knucklehead? I'm not sure I've ever seen him in a game. He certainly looks the part.

Really tough news. I was holding out hope that it would be less serious. Best wishes to Jacoby.

Rhone is in the second unit of receivers along with Rodney Harris and Chase Hendricks. The three have played garbage time and are all younger than everyone in the first unit. Presumably, Wiglusz, Jones, Walton, and maybe even Wilburn are gone next year, leaving Miles Cross as the seasoned vet.

IF Jacoby comes back, and Miles has a strong year this year... the WR crew might not skip a beat. All about finding QB1... Navarro or Winters.

Is Christian Hilton still on the team? I thought he'd get some time on the field. I have no reason other than he had some decent highlights but we all know how that goes!!! Chase Hendricks is more than capable! And Ty Walton has really stepped up this year as well. Hell, move Tyler Foster into a wideout with Kaczmarek in at tight end!

QB1 will be Rourke again, he still has another year of eligibility after this season. He redshirted in 2019, the Covid year was 2020, he played in both 2021 and 2022, and also this year (2023), leaving him one more season (2024).

Maybe. Yes, he has another year of eligibility. But he will probably have his master's degree by then. If that is the case, he'll have little reason to stay in college when he'll be the #1 overall pick in the CFL draft if he isn't in the NFL. Even if he does stay in college there is less reason to not chase NIL money if he has his master's. If we have a great record some of the coaches might be coaching for P5 schools which would give him even less reason to stay. So, yes, he certainly could be back. We shouldn't rule it out, and it changes the outlook next year for the better a lot if he is, but I certainly wouldn't count on it.

All correct.

I definitely would not count on him returning.

I also would not count out Kurtis playing the Sam Hartman role for a P5 looking for a one year shot.

If Kurtis doesn't raise his stock by the end this season (and so far he's not headed that way), I don't know that a P5 transfer would help him. If he's motivated by an NIL package, however...
