from Herd Nation:

Wow. Tickets flying Reply

Just heard that tickets are flying and heading towards only having paired tickets together in the upper end zone.

If you are sitting on some reason not to go... better make your decision quick or get ready to listen to the Dawg (not that that is a bad thing).

Near sellout already and no TV.

Boy oh boy do I wish I was going to this game, but I'm going to be farther away from Huntington than Monroe on game day.  It's a little hard to believe that this will be the case, but the facts are the facts.  I probably should be whipped with a wet Ohio green noodle for taking a trip at this time.  (I have some good excuses, but I'll spare you that enumeration.)  All I can say is that I'll be watching the Marshall webcast and rooting as hard as I can for Old Ohio!  Go 'Cats!

It's a shame we're only going to have 50 people there.

one thing you can count on, the blathering Herd fans will take credit for every green shirt in the joint, no matter what shade it is or where it is sitting or how many of them cheer when the Cats score.

My dad and I will be infiltrating the Marshall box suites with our Ohio gear on. May be a little awkward when Ohio is up a couple TDs

I was able to get tix in 103 last night, so there's still seats in Ohio's section.

I just looked online through herdzone.com

For two tickets together, best available was putting me in section 109, row 45. These are on visitor's side, a few sections down from the official Ohio visiting section, about midfield, and will run you $50 for the pair if you enter the promo code "MEDICAL"

For two tickets together at your cheapest "get me in the door," it was section 228, row 19. I actually sat in this area for the Marshall-Va.Tech game last season. It's not a bad seat. It's in the endzone, but gives you a decent vantage point. These are $30 with the promo code.

Here's a seating chart for comparison. http://www.herdzone.com/tickets/m-footbl-seating-chart.html

I'm sure if you actually called, you could probably name your section.

I'm an Ohio grad living locally and entered a few contests to win free tickets, so I'm waiting until those drawings tomorrow (Thursday) to buy my tickets. I called the ticket office to ask if I waited until tomorrow, would I be left in the cold. A girl, probably college student, answered and said "Oh no, you'll be all right."

I went to that Va.Tech game last year. It was a good draw, but not sure it was an official sellout. Hokies were ranked in top 15 in both polls at the time and official attendance was 34,424. I would love to see a great crowd, but I think 30,000 is more likely and attainable.

Go 'Cats.

OhioPilot,

This will be about what your view looks like. I took this during the Marshall-Va.Tech game last year.

I would be very surprised if there were 35K there Saturday night. I think it will be a good crowd anyway. Pilot, each section in the seating chart that Mountain State linked above is clickable. It might give you another view from that area as well.

To be honest, in all the years I've been going to Marshall games I've never had my ticket checked inside the stadium. I doubt you would have much problem moving to the visitor's section once you got in. Unless you want to sit in the end zone.

This is a facebook message from the ticket office posted this afternoon...

Thundering Herd Nation,
Ticket sales for Saturday are going great. Everyone is very excited. With that being said there are plenty of tickets remaining.

If best available in the end zone on Wed is the top corner then the end zone tickets are at least doing well.

Per the Ohio Athlete's site:  If you call Marshall's ticket office and ask for your tickets to be in section 101 & 103, they'll be happy to accomodate.

Finally purchased tickets for myself (Ohio grad) and wife (Marshall), so I guess we cancel out each other.

Anyway, a tip possibly for those using the "MEDICAL" $10 off promo through herdzone.com

I was hunting through the cheapies, the $15 endzone seats. That's after the $10 discount. All other tickets are $25, normally $35. The endzone seats aren't bad there, though. I posted the picture above. I forget if that's section 228 or 230, but you'll get the idea.

At first, the online return gave me section 230, row, 31, seats 37-38. You can’t pick your seat like you can, for example through the Reds' website, unless you call. I kept the tickets in my cart and selected to add more, hoping it would eventually bump me to seats 1-2 in the row behind, so we could be on the end to come and leave as we please. My second selection gave me row 31, seats 41-42. I tried a third time and got row 30, seats 1-2.

I dumped the first two selections and opted for the final. Instead of getting seats 1-2 in row 32, like I figured would eventually happen, I got seats 1-2 a row ahead. Someone must have been looking at those tickets and decided not to get them, or their system is screwy. Either way, I feel like I beat the system a little, lol.

See you all at the Joan on Saturday!

Hey everyone, I'm new to the site, but I'll be there in Huntington on Saturday. Just bought my ticket earlier today. I'm coming down with a couple friends of mine, but they were already planning on going weeks before I was and bought their tickets well in advance. So, I'll be in section 230, row 32, seat 37. I'm a student at OU, and I'm hoping that I don't encounter too much of a problem with the Marshall fans. If they're anything like the Penn State fans I was fortunate enough to sit with, then I'm sure I'll enjoy my trip to the Joan.
