My son has a baseball game Saturday and we will be hitting the road to Huntington from Columbus at 3:00 - just enough time to get to the game by start time (hopefully).

Does anyone have parking advice coming into town right near game start time?

Best route for that time of arrival - Rt 7/OH side route, or Rt 2/WVA side route?

Any advice from Herd fans w/good local knowledge appreciated..........

I prefer Route 7 to Route 2 (less likely to get stuck behind a truck, IMO), but I don't think it makes a huge difference time wise. Either way, you'll be getting through Huntington on 3rd Avenue.

It's always taken by about 2 and a half hours from Columbus to Huntington... you should be fine.

take the wv route and stop at hillbilly hotdogs. If you like hot dogs it is the best place you will find.

Finding a place to park within a couple blocks of the stadium at that time is going to be a challenge.

I have a C Lot parking pass, but we have two vehicles coming in.  Is there a private lot across the street or near there on 5th Ave. that we might be able to get the second car in so tailgating can be done together?  We will be in town early.

The businesses directly across 5th avenue from the C Lot usually offer parking for $10 a spot. I want to say there is game day parking either beside or behind the Steak Escape. You might want to call the Steak Escape and verify though.

WV RT 2 is a better road.  you don't have to drive through a town like Gallipolis that delays your arrival

It's fine from a nastalgia standpoint and the portions are certainly impressive, but I don't it's anywhere near the best or even a good tasting dog.
