As was explained in another thread, that punter often took off on his own initiative during his couple years as punter. Per one source, he was told by the coaches that if he elected to run, it better work or there would be consequences. He made the first down the first 5-6 times he decided to go for it, but he finally had one not work against Kent, and got to run laps at at 6AM.
I agree that it wasn't an intentional roughing, and that no one was trying to hurt him, yet you can see from the video that Hershey was not happy about being hit while in the air. All we are saying is that the play was not a fake punt called by the coaches. It is what it is. Marshall fans act like Ohio was trying to run up the score, but the subs were in the entire fourth quarter, and even by the third, Ohio had basically stopped passing.
In the end it doesn't matter. It will still be a game on the field tomorrow, and both sides will give it all they have. I expect a very physical battle.
