I want to compliment the users of this board for not using foul language in every other post. It is rare that i have seen it. Herdnation has to be one of the worst boards for attacking other posters with vulgar foul mouth language. we can have civil disagreements without shredding each other.

I agree that this board has some of the highest ethical (and grammatical) standards of any board I've seen.

With that said, one of my gripes with the board is the recent fascination with the "THIS" posts, where you just quote somebody else and type in "THIS".  I'm not too sure what that adds to the conversation and it really just seems like a waste of time (now I can imagine somebody quoting this and typing 'this').  I don't feel like this used to be popular, but it's become quite regular in the last couple of months.  Doesn't really seem to fit with the intellect of this board.

I don't have a problem with it.  It's just saying that you agree with a particular point of view.   Does it matter that you don't spend the time typing out a 250 word reply stating that you agree and think it was a well informed, well thought-out piece?

The "This" is nice for the original poster who gets recognized for a solid post, and others see that the content of that post has supporters beyond just the original poster.  It does serve a purpose.

Now if Ryan would make a "like" function where we could just like posts, we wouldn't need the "this" or "+1"....

-1!

I does not like this idea, and I are unanimous in this.
