Since they are not eligible to play in the post-season, if they make in the top-8 or could play in a BCS bowl what happens?

Since we could possiblity be in the top-15 by the end of season (despite this game), I think this needed answered.

You clearly didn't watch the game today or you would not be worrying about the top 15. I hope we go undefeated, and it's obviously still possible, but they had better get it together, and we have absolutely no room to look for votes in any poll right now.

They aren't eligible to be ranked in the Coaches' Poll, and they won't be eligible to be ranked in the BCS when that comes out in a few weeks.

They could go 12-0, win their division and be ranked #1 by the AP and it would have absolutely zero effect on the BCS rankings and our ability to crack the Top 12/16.

It would actually help us if they keep winning these B1G games against the contenders in the conference. As much as I hate to admit it, I was rooting for them today, and will be rooting for them against Nebraska, Wisconsin and Michigan. That way, whoever does win the B1G will be ranked ranked pretty low, maybe even lower than the Big East Champ.

So if they're #1 and we're #13, it would mean that we could go to the BCS?

Well they can be #1 in the AP poll and we could be #13 in the AP poll but you don't know for sure what they means for us in the BCS.  We would be the 12th ranked eligible team in the AP but maybe ranked higher or lower in the BCS.  OSU won't have a #1 BCS ranking.  There is no way to know what their ranking or ours WOULD be if they were eligible.  So the question doesn't make sense really.  If we are ranked in the top 12 we go.  OSU won''t be ranked either ahead of us or behind us.  We would need to be ranked in the top 12 and only eligible teams get ranked.

They won't be ranked in the BCS poll or any of the polls that factor into the BCS rankings. They already aren't being ranked in the Coaches' Poll (1/3 of the BCS rankings). The AP Poll means absolutely nothing towards the BCS and our goal of cracking the Top 12/16 and getting the automatic bid.

Being ranked in the AP Poll would help us gain more national attention and may get the coaches to rank us higher. But it doesn't directly factor into the BCS rankings.
