A lot has been made of whether BSU is the best team in the MAC, after they beat two AQs. But after a scoreless 1st Q, Kent has ripped BSU for 3 tds, including a 99-yd KO return, and leads 21-10 with about 3 min left in the half. I've watched the last 7 minutes or so and BSU is missing tackles (or KSU is running through them) and their timing is generally off in the passing game.

Kent has Dri Archer and good run stuffers, but Ball State's receivers have been open all day. Neither of these teams will be pushovers for us.
I think there is a hyena in the stands. It was also there when we played up there in basketball late last season.

Ball St. took the opening drive right down the field but fumbled at the goal line or else the score could be 21-20 at half. Ball State's offense is the real deal and Kent State's defense is good. Both will be very tough road games for Ohio.

The saving grace may be that neither defense is worth a damn. BSU has about 550 total yards and KSU is approaching 400. Lousy decision by Keith on the jump pass and a lucky grab on the second deflection of it set BSU up with great field position for the go-ahead score.

After watching this train wreck up until our 3:00pm broadcast start....
I think it's both.
Ball State is definitely not as good as I thought they were, and (Kent Read! Kent Write! Kent State!) is better than I expected.
Kent's big running back is really quite good. They could get much better if their defense plays better.
Good Times in the MAC!
GO BOBCATS!

Of the two, I think BSU is the better team, even if KSU pulls this out. They've been more unflappable, and thus more consistent, in the 4th Q. When the pressure's been on, KSU has folded a bit. They took a huge sack and Archer had a drop when he was wide open on the previous possession. BSU had some lapses that hurt them earlier in the game.

I thought Ball State's defense, especially in the 4th, was terrible. Kent looked marginally okay on offense but was still moving he ball well, because of BSU's blown coverages Kent's defense looks good, but I think OUr offense looks faster, should make for an interesting game. Definitely two tough road games.
