How does Ball St., with only 2 wins this year v. Indiana St. and CMU, go into DeKalb and beat NIU?

Could only imagine what the score would be if we didn’t chew clock in the first half

It hasn't been pretty, but it's nice to finally to be in control of the game

If the coaching staff doesn’t realize how much better the offense was after they stayed in a good rhythm, then they have to be blind.

Nice second half. Other than big pass play with missed tackle - not much given up on defense

This was painful in every way, except the final result.

I’m telling ya… Albin is gonna stumble into another 10 win season and land a damn lifetime contract.

Short fields = 14 pts. Defense really made it happen. Offense can't seem to finish drives of more than 40 yds.

Somewhat of a replay of the FAU game where we were shut down for all but the last 23 seconds of the first half.

We'll take the win but the offense will really need to produce next week against our nemesis, CMUU.

A great 2nd half and a gutsy road win. Never will turn my nose up at a road win in a MAC. Our defense continues to deliver results.

Seeing the offense click a little bit in the 2nd half felt good.

The fumble recovery was HUGE! Glad were able to capitalize in the redzone after that.

Also remember in the first half how Buffalo bungled their challenges and we lucked out on that clear fumble.

Road win and puts Ohio 7 and 3 clinching a winning season. Defense saved this team tonite. Offense did just enough to win. Some penalties. Getting back the bread and butter which is the run game in the second half with Bangura and Allison with a few QB runs mixed in too.

Box score said they had 11k in attendance. No way did they have more than 2k, if that. Good road win!

Looked to me like Albin was calling plays in the second half.

Always fun to read the manic in-game posts.

Solid road win. Good to be 7-3 even though there is almost no chance at a conference title. The offense is still a disappointment but this defense is just so solid and dependable. #6 in all of FBS in points allowed! Houston & Thompson are a true joy to watch in action.

Thompson left the MACC game last year with an injury that kept him out of the bowl game. If I'm not mistaken, it was a shoulder injury. And it seems he keeps re-aggravating that shoulder throughout this season, including last night. No inside info here, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's been playing through some (a lot?) pain with his shoulder.

If that first half offense doesn’t drive you crazy, I don’t know what would.

How big was that turnover?
Our probability to win when we create turnovers is a major plus.
If we are able to win out then we put additional pressure on Miami.

You know, it's just possible that Albin knows more about football than you or I, or even SBH/bobcatsquared.

I agree that I get perplexed that we almost always snap the ball very deep in the play clock that lets the defense kind of know when we are going to start the play, which seems to me not a good thing. Also, our obsession with UTM, when off tackle works better for us most of the time is a head scratcher. But, at the end of the day, he's a winning coach, and my opinion really doesn't matter much. I remember back in the day having some of the same reservations about Bill Hess' play calling, even in the 1960, undefeated year. So, I think you can take all the fan wisdom on this board and stuff it in a cocked hat.
