My thought…
AD ties are in the Dakotas. Would he pull from his ties and elevate an FCS head coach or associate coach from one of the Dakota or Montana schools to the G5 / FBS level as a first time coaching experience at this level.
I really believe we need to keep our focus on instate players in Ohio and the surrounding areas of Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Indiana.
I also believe that in this new era of college football, we won’t have the NIL to compete with the P5 teams so we should try to get the guys that are passed on in HS and Juco and FCS levels by recruiting in the states of Texas , Georgia ,Florida much harder.
I also think we need experienced so I would go after a coach who has led a G5 team in the playoffs in the past few seasons. If he can do it there , he should be able to do it at Ohio.
This position is a much different opening than the last national search in 2004. Ohio program has a national name and the game and recruiting of the sports is a completely different spot. I
