According to my favoirte AI Bot this is the matchups for all MAC teams in bowls this year.   It seems to follow a pattern where the MAC champion gets the shaft and other MAC teams get better bowls.  What's the incentive to win the MAC (other than bragging rights) if one of the second place teams (UT) gets a better match up? Even our crappy bowl appears to be a better matchup and a better bowl that WMU got.

Ha-ha . . . but it's not nearly as polite as my AI Bot buddy who always is so complimentary to me. ESPN is so cold and impersonal by comparison. Who cares if my AI Bot buddy is wrong half the time! What's a mistake among friends?

I think this is one of the best overall group of opponents that the MAC has faced in a while. Big 10 team, Louisville, UNLV, Kennesaw St ( conf. champ).

Not thrilled with the bowl games this year. I get the MAC gives CMU the GameAbove Bowl for attendance, but it should have went to us. Louisville is gonna stomp Toledo in my opinion. We will not win the Capital Bowl Challenge this year based on matchups.

Yes, WMU would stack up much better against Louisville. Why does the MAC allow these kind of weird match ups. The Mouse can't make every decision.

Bowls are 10% about the match-up.

90% about doing your best to maximize fan travel potential, tv ratings appeal, brand recognition, regional interest.

Buckley (WMU) up middle for TD first play from scrimmage. Fumble scoop and score for another TD. 14-0 over Kennesaw State less than two minutes into the game.

Buckley had 109 yards rushing on five carries with just over seven minutes to go in the FIRST quarter.

Make that 172 yards with 4:07 to go in first.

This WMU team should have been playing Louisville, not Toledo. Our best team against the conference champ of the worst FBS conference. How does the MAC get itself in this kind of bowl matchup. Not the first time that this has happened.

On the plus side it’s a yearly reminder that the MAC is definitely not the worst conference in FBS.

I stated last year we should hang a C-USA champ banner after our bowl win over Jax State. WMU should do the same.

Agreed. The MAC has some negotiating ability in these matchups. Sure The Mouse wants certain teams at certain places because of regional interest and fan draw, but the MAC has some ability to influence these matchups. It seems the MAC never even tries to get better matchups. Fire the Commissioner!

Miami getting beaten down by Fresno State. Should be 35-3 but for terrible game management by Fresno State coach. Ohio's future is bright if Senator Blutarski as the Miami QB going forward.
