I'll take it. UNLV should be a good enough test for us.

Random intrigue: Dan Mullen's wife is an Ohio alum.

This is Dallas metro area. Frisco is a fast growing city north of Big D.

Would have preferred a Big Ten team in Detroit just because I would have gone to it, but pretty good bowl for us. 9pm day before Christmas Eve so lots of eyes on the game, 12,000 seat capacity so the crowd shouldn’t look pathetic, and 10-3 UNLV is probably a better team than some of the 6-6 or 7-5 Big Ten teams we could have played.

Highly disagree about the time being shit. 9 ET/6 PT the night before Christmas Eve when most of the country will be off work and no other bowl games on. Would be nicer to get a 7 or 8 ET start but still.

I suspect DFC is talking more from an attending in person standpoint, which I agree. No reasonable way to swing that and be home for various xmas/xmas eve family festivities.

UNLV is definitely the toughest bowl opponent we have had in a long time, maybe ever?

I thought I saw the time as 6, but I guess that was on the unlv site.

That said, it being later is ok for tv or on that day, but that means you have to stay in texas (barf) for another day and hope you get home on xmas eve on time. This is garbage and somehow it's been 16 years since we've been to motor city?

I agree. The MAC assigns one of its best teams to one of its worst bowls. Mr. 2000 is slowly winning me over to his way of thinking: Time ot Leave the MAC. Ok, I'm being a little sarcastic, but we get shafted on the All-MAC selections and get into a crap bowl at a crap time, and I'm not a happy camper. And, don't tell me this was ESPN's choice; it was a MAC choice.

Theory: Ohio gets decent ratings no matter when they play so ESPN often gives them hard to draw viewers game times. (?)

Over/Under on Dan Mullen still being at UNLV by gametime?

UNLV is 17th on offense but 121st on defense. Ohio is 9th in the country in rushing yards. Ohio is 37th on offense and 58th on defense. With the right game plan they are beatable.

Anybody is beatable… However, this match up, reminds me of Troy back in the day! These guys have beaten some decent teams.

American has an 11:07 am flight that gets you into Columbus at 2:31 pm on the 24th.

And on a related note relative to the bowl, the Convo holds more than the "stadium" we'll be playing in for this bowl game.

Will be a damn good test and we’ll get pummeled if we’re down key players or distracted by *gestures to everything*

This should be one of the “best of the rest” games this bowl season. Excited to keep that win streak alive!

Not sure that seating capacity will handle the demand from our fans.

They gave up 38 to Miami and won 41-38.

Doesn't matter in an indoor practice facility that is totally symmetrical. No sun and no wind.

The real and first Miami in Oxford, Ohio, or that john-come-lately Miami in Florida?

The first Frisco Bowl was a great time with tons of memories and the beatdown of SDSU. Kurtis signed his commitment the week before the game, and I got to meet Nathan, Kurtis and their father during the trip and thank them for their trust in Frank/OHIO.

No telling what this venue will provide in atmosphere versus the soccer stadium, which was a great spot and had an extremely large Bobcat turnout for the Bobcat Bash. I hope many can make the trip, and as others have stated, we drew a tough test, toughest of our MAC brethren, IMHO. I hope that we can give them a tough time and pull out the victory.

And for those who don't know, The Star is UNBELIEVEABLY IMPRESSIVE, and I hope that Chad Estes (Cowboy's Exec) will be able to provide opportunities for our fanbase to explore their facilities. Roll Bobbies!

Not the worst bowl. That would be the Birmingham Bowl where 5-7 App State is playing a conference for Georgia Southern. They played a month ago.

I can't think of a better opponent for Ohio in a bowl, even if UNLV is probably going to beat the shit out of us.
