It is time to be upfront. Whatever the problem with Coach Brian Smith, the school should make some type of announcement. Zero transparency !
Whether it is a legal matter, personal matter, or something else --- put out some type of statement.

Not fair to recruits both high school and portal recruits (upcoming).
Not to mention Ohio Bobcat fans.

A bad look all around . Disappointing.

How many people at Penn State got in trouble 13 years because the never investigated serious allegations? If they have good reason to believe something serious happened they needed to respond.

If the have very good reason to think something had happened but not a rock solid 100% case they don't want to ruin coach's life with false allegations or open themselves up to a defamation suit and make the university look really bad in that case.

There are probably reasons why this has been handled as it has.

And relative to your last sentence above, Coach is an employee of Ohio University. I can't see them disclosing anything publicly regarding a personnel issue.

The University’s track record with suspensions is not exactly a good one.
