If he gets it and comes back to Ohio - he's stunting the growth of the guys behind him. If he's doing it to transfer and try and get a pay day, then he should have done it this past season.

Is that Grant Foster guy at Gonzaga (basketball) going to be like 27 years old when he gets drafted for pro ball? Unless the NCAA gives him permanent life-long eligibility.

The guy that was QB at Tennessee this season started college in 2019 and was on his 4th school. This has turned into an epidemic.

No - That is what his SIXTH year was set up to do. In his FIFTH year he won a MACC, a bowl game and was 1st Team All-MAC. What more was he really going to do by staying his SIXTH year at Ohio??? His had hit his ceiling in Athens. But he decided to stay at Ohio and pass on that opportunity. Then, he didn't get back to the MACC, he was named 2nd Team All-MAC and maybe he'll win another bowl game. Hence, the reason he's applying for a freakin' SEVENTH year. If making some bank in college was always his intention he obviously passed on it by coming back to Ohio this year. He was at his highest position at Ohio but didn't pounce on the chance to capitalize on it. Seeking a SEVENTH year screams as a last-ditch attempt at making money in college football. Sadly, the NCAA will probably grant it, and hell, they'll probably even throw in an EIGHTH year if he says please.

No, I don't see a path to an eighth year unless he gets hurt before next season or something. But he has a redshirt year, a COVID year which didn't count against anyone, and missed nearly all of 2022 with some lost time in other seasons. He has a pretty decent argument to make to the NCAA for another year.

Didn't the NCAA just grant a kid who played in the g league for a few years eligibility? I can't think of his name, but he'll be 22 as freshman.

Aguilar was at City College of San Francisco in 2019. Max Rodarte was (several years) behind him, but fun little connection there.

Marty mentioned on the radio last night the waiver was denied. But Parker planned to appeal it further.

Very unlikely a 7th season is granted.

Not sure if this is the right place to do it, but want to proclaim my appreciation for Parker. What a find he has been for us. A great guy, great student, great leader. Not sure what the last 3 years would have looked like without him around. I'll miss watching his elite elusiveness and playmaking ability. We have been incredibly spoiled at QB with Rourke-Rourke-Navarro.

What a run. And I hope it doesn’t stop.

Rourke -> Rourke -> Parker

Sieh -> Tyus -> Sieh ( Ouellette, Blankenship, McRae etc before)

Wigs -> Owen -> Chase

Frank built the foundation and the entire first floor. Incredible to look back at that hire and the trajectory it set off.

You nailed it Andrew! Parker is a great person who will leave Athens with at least one graduate degree. It was fun to watch him play. And yes, we have been spoiled at the QB spot for the last several years. Coach Isphording should be commended for the outstanding job he did developing these QB's.

Only one other stop, not multiple. And, who knows what happens at UCF if he stayed past freshman year. Great resume at OHIO, but he wasn’t necessarily slighted elsewhere.

I'm sure he has very strong, positive feelings towards the university, the community, and the fans. No one here is suggesting otherwise. He's done great at Ohio (and has done as much for the university, as Ohio did for him) and doesn't owe the program or fans anything more. I wish him good fortune going forward and hope he gets the 7th year and makes the most of it - even if it means playing somewhere else.

And he is also a finalist for the William Campbell 2025 trophy that goes to the top scholar-athlete in college football, with close to a 4.0 and I believe is in grad school.

And o$u, bama and santa clara are among multiple college basketball teams with former G League players and/or NBA draft picks on their current roster.

Yes, we will. We should never forget the role Parker played in getting us our first MAC title since 1968 and our first 11-win season in school history. He also represented OHIO with class and always had his academics in order. I saw he was just named to the 2025 Academic All-America Second Team. Thanks for everything!

He posted this on his Instagram page on 1/27. The post includes photos from his time at OHIO, UCF, and in high school. I read it as a goodbye to football, but I'm not sure if a decision has been made publicly about his appeal.

Well, it's been confirmed by 247 Sports on their Transfer Portal page that Parker Navarro "transferred" to Professional. (Kinda funny how 247 did that.)
