I like Brad Crawford's idea here:

Brad Crawford (CBS) GameAbove Sports Bowl Detroit Dec. 26 Minnesota

Simply because we'd give Sieh Bangura the chance to show Minny what they missed out on while he rides out in style.
Hate the timing because I couldn't be there in person, but love the opponent, especially if we win. I have something like 18 first cousins in the Twin Cites and I'd love to have family bragging rights! Grobe gave that to me, once. It'd be nice to have it again.

I really like this. Let Sieh put a hole in a rowing boat. See how fast it sinks.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Penn State win their last 3 and get to 6-6 and be a Detroit bowl candidate. The Rutgers / Penn St finale could be a battle for bowl eligibility.

Kyle Bonagura (ESPN) GameAbove Sports Bowl Detroit Dec. 26 Maryland
Brad Crawford (CBS) GameAbove Sports Bowl Detroit Dec. 26 Minnesota
Jerry Palm (Palmbrackets) Salute to Veterans Bowl Montgomery Dec. 16 Appalachian St
Bryan Fischer (SI) Arizona Bowl Tucson Dec. 28 Michigan State
Oliver Hodgkinson (PFNet) Boca Raton Bowl Boca Raton Dec. 23 UNLV
Steve Lassan (Athlon) GameAbove Sports Bowl Detroit Dec. 26 Maryland
Pete Fiutak (CFNews) Bahamas Bowl Nassau TBD Kennesaw State

I would take any of these.

We should be hearing something pretty soon.

I'd be good with any bowl game except for the Arizona Bowl because we went there not many years ago. We'll see.

Those projections don't take into consideration how anything in the MAC works.

MAC Championship (Detroit)
Western Michigan 8-4
Miami 7-5

Toledo 8-4
Ohio 8-4
CMU 7-5

Bowl ties for 2025 are Game Above, Arizona and Boise. Bahamas is not being played this year.

The way the MAC usually sets it up is the two teams that played in Detroit for the championship game do not play in the bowl game there. For example if its 9-5 WMU and 7-6 Miami then WMU goes to Arizona and Miami to Boise. Then because its been a while since CMU was good I bet they end up in Detroit to fill seats.

Toledo and Ohio will probably end up shopped out to play the SBC or AAC in a bowl game. East Carolina, Memphis are both 8-4. Troy is 8-4 & So. Miss is 7-5. Something like this is where I think Ohio is headed. The SBC has 5 teams that are finished 6-6 and they'll probably play CUSA schools.

Game Above would be likely if it was Buffalo & Kent State as bowl eligible teams with us and not Toledo & CMU but with the local schools available I doubt it.

When was the last time we played a P4 Bowl opponent? I see all these post about Minnesota and PSU. I wish we would.

Toledo played in Detroit last year. I believe the choice to play there is up to us, and will depend on opponent.

That was the best game of the season last year if anybody remembers that one.

Agreed with all the above, I think CMU gets Detroit vs our coveted P4 opponent.

I saw a bowl prediction of OU vs Penn State in Detroit. That would be sick.

Though I imagine it'll be CMU v Penn State if anything.

What is the MAC's all-time record against power conferences in bowl games? I think it is really quite bad.

Our sustained bowl success may be related to dodging those matchups in the past.

Not to take anything away from our wins, they are all awesome and they have been against the teams the Cats were given. But ma. We’ve gotten some sweet draws.

The Big Ten only has 12 bowl elgible and they are projecting 3 of those in the playoff so they might be a team short. ACC has 11 bowl elgible and if only 1 team in the playoff then perhaps a spare team. Louisville is a possiblity for Detroit given the distance.

Curious to see where we're going now. I see most sites having us go to Detroit for the GameAbove Sports Bowl to play vs. a B1G team.

Also, Kansas State just opted out of their bowl game invite, so one spot is open for whoever.

The thinking on this one is Ohio gets it over CMU with a better record. Miami to Boise and Western Michigan to Arizona. CMU vs. Southern Miss in Mobile. Toledo vs. Troy in Montgomery. Could be with that win over West Virginia in Ohio's cap.

Really want to go to the bowl game this year because I'm already sick of the cold...Detroit doesn't excite me!! (Although Ford Field is indoor!)

This bullshit where we have to wait until Sunday for a bowl slot that could be in like 2 weeks has got to go. This deal could be closed way sooner and people would have more time to plan. ***king espn

I'll take it. UNLV will be a good test for us.

Plus, I love drinking coffee anyway.
