If this was 5 years ago and we had a healthy team I would have been unhappy as some on this board are, BUT I'M NOT.
WHY
1) We had about 4-5 defensive and 3 offensive starters out with injuries.
2) In addition we have numerous 2nd team guys out as well
3) Every team we play wants to knock us from the undefeated and consequently play their best ie UMASS last week
     and Buffalo this week.
4) Look at the stats for UMASS against WM yesterday and compare to last week. Do the same for Buffalo yesterday.
5) Our team has arrived....THEY KNOW HOW TO WIN. THEY DON'T PANIC. THEY FIND WAYS TO WIN. Buffalo  clearly    owned us when you look at the stat line;  time of possession, rushing, total yards etc. However it was mistakes,
   turnovers, penalties at the wrong time that hurt their cause. OHIO was able to take advantage of these Buffalo
   errors and we won the game, same thing occurred last week.

I'm more impressed with this team and how they win games considering all they have to over come.
One more game at home against Akron then we have earned our week off to help heal some injuries.

If this were 5 years ago and we were this banged up we would be unhappy because if we were this banged up 5 years ago we would have lost.

A win is a win. This season has been magical. 6-0. I don't care if they win by one point every game!

We'll all take a win over a loss every day, but you can't ignore the circumstances. Our defense was crushed and we lost total offensive yardage 501-333. TT, because of injury, has become a one option qb.

If Buffalo doesn't have critical fumbles and we don't get a 100 yard run, we lose by 2 touchdowns.

I am ecstatic we are 6-0, especially considering the massive injurys situation. The ball "bounced" OUr way a few times, we converted TO's into scores, add a big play by Daz, and we got the win.

Hmmm...during the Cleve, Lichty, Knorr years, seemingly most of the bounces went the other way, and when they did come Ohio's way, seldom did the Bobcats take advantage.

Now that more bounces seem to be coming Ohio's way, could it be due to better coaching and players and a different atttude?

My thought at hafltime yesterday: Seldom did a 7-pt lead seem so dissatisfying.  But then I remembered those Cleve/Lichty/Knorr years when half-time leads of any measure were infrequent and to be cherished however achieved.

you could also think of it like this - our return and great field position b/c of the turnovers took about 200 yards of field away from the offense...  Had we taken those three drives from the 25 yard line, instead of 0 for the offense on the return and the other side of the 50 on the turnovers.

Stats can always be deceiving.  That's why field position has to be taken into account.  Our average start was our own 44; Buffalo's average start was its own 20.  We started at midfield once and in Buffalo's territory 4 times (not counting the onside kick recovery).  Buffalo never started on our side of the 50; they started at their 41 once and everything else was from the 25 in, including 7 possessions inside the 20.  They just about always had farther to go to get a TD.  One way to look at it is their offense needed 16 yds for every point (501 divided by 31); ours needed about 11 yds per point (333 divided 31 -- we had seven pts on the KO return).  Field position is how the defense and special teams really help the offense.
