Perhaps more relevant for the students, but I want to try and make this stadium wide.

The Ozone wants to try something new for the homecoming game tomorrow. Rather than fire Akron up with the sound boos, we want to greet them with dead silence. So every time Akron comes onto the field (warmups, pregame, after halftime) make NO NOISE! Shortly after when OHIO comes out, go crazy. This will hopefully make a cool sound effect from nothing to eruption in just a few seconds. Tell everyone you can about this!

Intriguing, I am interested to know how this goes....per the other threads if this works, I would say that would be a positive development for the OZone to take some actual leadership and get the crowd involved in the game.

So for everyone besides the OZONE - act as you normally do.

Does the O-Zone have a listserv for its members? This would be a pretty solid thing to send out in an email to all O-Zone members.

My dad told me stories that when he was in highschool at a Jesuit school in Manhattan that in basketball games when the refs made a bad call they would all go silent - supposedly praying for the refs enlightenment. :)

The O Zone does have listserv, but I'm not sure how effective it is.  I am a member of the O Zone, former VP, and have never received an O Zone email even though I know for a fact they are out there.

Honestly, the average O Zoner isn't going to open the emails the O Zone sends.  I cannot tell you the amount of email I get from student organizations that I completely ignore.

This might be more deserving of basketball...there's just too much going on in the football stadium to have complete silence.

By the way, this tradition is already taken...

LOL!

Seriously though, I think this would work better in an arena or dome but hey, what the heck.  Lets do it.

Good luck pulling this off on a sellout (and then some) game, with a ton of out of towners in the stands.
