BA.comers were asked how OUr 'Cats will do during the second "half-season" after completing the first "half-season" 6-0. The results of the poll through Saturday morning involved 75 responses and the collective opinion that 2012 will prove to be an historic time for Bobcat football: Fully 68 percent of respondents -- 51 people -- predict the 'Cats will win at least five of the final six regular-schedule games, giving the team at least 11 wins, which would be a single-season record for the program.

In fact, 27 BA.comers (36 percent of voters) predicted the Bobcats will "run the table" for a 12-0 finish.

While 88 percent of respondents gazed into their glasses and saw at least four wins in the final six games, nine respondents weren't drinking the Kool-Aid (or whatever that liquid in the glass was): Nine respondents (12 percent) predicted the Bobcats will split the final six games, going 3-3 down the stretch for a 9-3 finish.

With that reported, let the polls close and the second half begin!

We beat Akron to go 7-0 ranked 24th or 25th going into our off week.  I think we will play a lot better football after our break.  The team should be refreshed and ready to play great football down the stretch.

I'm surprised there are 3 people who think we will lose three games here on out.  I would not be TOTALLY surprised with losing one game.  But I think it MAY be a stretch to see even two losses.

Then again, those three people could be Marshall fans.

As much as I would love to finish the season 6-0, I just think we'll drop one somewhere along the way. My honest guess is @ Ball St.. I hope I am wrong.

[/Jeff McKinney impersonation on]  Well, I hear that Open Date is much stronger than their record might indicate.  We really shouldn't take them lightly.  They play a real physical brand of football.  The last team they played had their QB and top WR injured.  Watch out for those Open Date Vandals!    [/Jeff McKinney impersonation off]

Jeff, this is all in good fun; somehow, I just couldn't resist the temptation.

OCF, that is funny ... and I'm pretty sure Jeff will see it in the spirit that it is meant :)

I think that Kent game is gonna be a real issue for us, especially on the road. Kent is looking pretty good and that could be for the division as Kent's only tough MAC game left(besides us) is BG.

They also have Rutgers in a couple weeks so it will be interesting to see how they do.

It's going to be a tough game to score in. I'd bet on the under.

Every one of the games could be tough! Even EMU! IF we run the table, it will be a testament to talent, grit, determination, relentlessness, preparedness, coaching and perhaps ... a little bit of luck.

Defense has struggled a bit too much for my liking, and starting out slow is going to come back and bite us eventually. I just hope it's in a game where we've already clinched a spot in the MAC title.

I am hoping TT can finally run Saturday so Akron won't give us a scare.  Assuming that doesn't happen I really hope we don't choke our Top 25 away against arch-rival Miami.... That would leave a bad taste.  Then we have 2 games at home for MACtion where we'd surely be ranked.  Those look like 2 pretty decent teams, but I'm hoping the bye-week will have given us the opportunity to heal up and finish strong.  The last 2 on the road scare me... I just keep thinking back to us blowing the MAC East @ Kent in 2010.

But yes, 6-0

Cat4Ever is right...where we are right now, we could lose to anybody.  On the other hand, with our "system, staff and depth I would not be surprised if we run the table.  We have three difficult road games.  One a rivalry and two very improved teams.  I would hope we win out at home.

Bottom line, let's get a win vs. Akron, get healthy and make a run...one game at a time!

How many key players will we have back for the Miami game?

When do we get Scott and some DBs back?

I'm hoping that if he can't, that we'll finally do the right thing and play Vick!

Afraid we will  lose to Kent and Ball St.  Will lose them with our defense. ( or lack thereof)

I think a lot of it rides on the Akron game.  We know that they're a dangerous team, but most outside fans would see 6 wins vs. 1 win and think no brainer.

Beat Akron with no injuries.  Then we get a week of rest.  Hopefully, some of the dinged up guys will be better for Miami.  Cut the injury roster down and we will roll into Kent 11-0.

If G. Moore, Scott and Hughes can get near 100% there will be some stops we would not have otherwise.  A rested OL will get us some explosive plays.  Some competition between Beau and Ryan will help move the chains too.  As has been mentioned, just need to get past Kron.

I thought Hughes was done for the year with a broken shoulder?

You are correct Hughes is done for the year, all the injuries is the only reason I think we will definitely slip up somewhere.  There is going to be a perfect storm where our defense just gets raped by some team because their strength matches our defensive weakness and our offense won't be able do enough to pull off the comeback again.

Just out of curiosity, most bones take about 6 weeks to heal. I don't know what bone he broke. If Hughes got a cast this week, he could conceivably be back for the MAC Championship and any bowl game. I wonder if that's still a possibility.

It's certainly possible that some of the players that are "done for the year" might be able to play in a bowl game, particularly if it is a late one.

I defer to any better knowledge.  I was using the "out" not "out for season" in the Official Game 7 Thread above.
