Happened to run into Woseley on the way down Richland Ave at 7:30pm on my way to my car and on his way to West Green.  Was a really nice guy to talk to and was humble to our praise, but admitted to my brother and I that the team needed to do better.  So they know that even with the win that wasn't the exact finish they wanted.  And I noticed that in the postgame quotes TT mentioned how the offense got too conservative in the 4th, though it sounded like it was a coach's decision that TT didn't quite agree with.

We really only had two bad spots in the game:

End of 1st and start of 2nd half with us giving up two touchdowns to really let Akron back in the game.  This was more of the players fault than the coaches, lack of good defense and bad decisions.

Then the end of the game with conservative play-calling and putting in the reserves too early.  Maybe the coaches were expecting more from the reserves I don't know, but those two things almost cost us that 4th Quarter.  I mean we got pretty lucky on that onside kick, I am going to bet that film gets dissected very closely by us and our opponents.

Wosley seems like an awesome dude and he had a killer game yesterday. Glad to hear the players know they have some room to improve.

I'm sure they've been made very aware of the need for improvement.  Solich wasn't a happy camper going into the locker room at the half, and letting Akron back into the game in the 4th Q probably didn't improve his disposition.  Both the offense and the defense seemed way out of sync at times yesterday.  Some of it can be blamed on the injuries, but a lot of it was just mental.  Dropped passes, missed tackles and the like.  I hate the term "playing down to your opponent's level" because it's so condescending.  But when your last four opponents are 1AA, 0-4, 1-3 and 1-5 it's more than a little difficult to keep focused.
