Look for MAJOR rushing yards from Ohio..Akrons DL is in such shambles their actually considering using OL in some spots.

Many OL played bothways in hs.  I suspect Herman or Lechner could fill a DL spot if needed.  Harder would be going the other way.

I don't know what BG was able to do to slow down Akron, but with the way Akron has been able to move the ball and score in other games and our decimated secondary, this has the potential to be a true #MACtion game. Our team cannot underestimate these guys.

I hate Akron more than any other school.  They are dirtbags from the president on down.  I hope our guys stay come out of the locker room and throw the first punch, then blow them out.  I'd love for this to be the game where the team performs like Marshall last year.  The QB cannot rack up yards if the D-line puts him on his back.

I am with BOBCAT695!! After reading their message boards, they have more excuses why they are losing and that OHIO is just lucky.. Hopefully we come out and put them on their backsides and keep our feet on the gas.

Wish it was2:00 P.M. on Saturday!

Yeah, Zips Nation is a little delusional... but not so much more than we were after Solich came aboard.

Still, Akron was looking very dangerous for a while, but perhaps enough tape has come out that coaches are figuring out how to stop them. Their defense is terrible, so if we can get a few stops, we should win a very entertaining affair.

It appears to have worked out pretty well for us.

Their basketball team is full of law-breaking thugs.  They hired Terry Bowden, a known, self-admitted NCAA rules violator, to coach their football team.  Then, if that isn't enough, they hired Jim Tressel as an employee of their prestigious academic institution.  And you're saying I am the one without class?

I didn't wish for injuries, just a lot of sacks and a blow out win.

A healthy Boykin combined with Beau is huge for this game...

Ryan can lay down some serious punishment on an already hurting D Line...

Lets pound this one out...Keep Tyler on the road to full recovery and give the rest of our walking wounded a chance to heal up with the bye week...

GO BOBCATS!!!

Big test for our secondary.  Akron comes in 8th in the nation in passing.  If they had a running game, they would be really dangerous.  But they also cough up the ball a lot -- 8 INTs and 5 lost fumbles so far.  The defense should really come up big on this one.

Before Akron opened the MAC season against Miami two weeks ago, Bowden was quoted as saying, "There's no one left on our schedule who's any better than the teams we've played thus far."  They had played an FIU team that is now 1-5, a horrible Morgan State team and a very average Tennessee (whom they lost to by 21).

I suspect Bowden underestimated the MAC.

Judging by his play the last couple of weeks, my guess is he has/had broken ribs. I think he won't start taking hits again until Ohio runs into a defense or game situation that dictates it. So the earliest would be the Miami game. Akron and a bye week gives him two more weeks to heal.

Do you think that if we become too one dimensional against Akron we might see some packages with Vick? I don't know if an 80% TT > 100% Vick? Just an honest question...

Our OL may be the best in the MAC and combined with Beau & Boykins and this multi look offense that is a lot for a defense to look for. 1st half of most games seems like our coaches feel out the comp then BOOM halftime adjustments and its a WIN. Not many teams can change the facets of its offense so quickly.

Not using Vick in the past two games hurt us quite a bit, IMO.

If Akron is putting its chips on beating us with the pass I would take Ohio and the spread for this one. Ohio almost never has problems stopping good passing teams because of its speed in the secondary that tightens up in the red zone. Where Ohio gets into trouble is when a MAC school has a strong ground game that can move the chains with a few blocks by the OL. Akron will make a bunch of mistakes leading to interceptions if they try to throw the ball all day. Having watched Ohio this year and last year it seems like the team plays with more confidence. Last years team would have lost on Saturday with all of the defensive starters out but didn't.

Actually the last two weeks, our 1st and 3rd quarter adjustment seem to be what's working and the halftime adjustments consist of feeding the team fudge.

Why are so many of you fixated on Tettleton running?  Yes, it's a good thing if we need it.  IF.  We do not want him running as part of our regular offense--espec when we can put up 37 or 38 and win without him running.

See the Beefs back-up qb.  He got hurt just trying to pass.  Without purposely trying to run, he got hurt.  Why risk further injury by making Tyler run?

Yes, it's great that he's elusive and can run a bit when he needs to.  But to expose such a difference-maker for us to possible injury is something that we should avoid unless a strong need arisis.  You think Coach wants to run TT?

Beau and Boyken and Daz give us plenty of running.  Now, if you want to put two of these guys on the field at the same time, then I'm in.

TE depth?  Thank goodness.

considering that we are a one-back offense, yes, we are at our best when TT can keep it and go.

So Central Michigan shouldn't have caused defenses fits by making Dan LeFavour be one dimensional?  Or Chandler Harnish even with outstanding running backs should have just handed off and made a toss once in a while instead of wracking up yards from his position?  Florida would have been so much better if Tebow had taken it easy.

The offense is geared to have the QB take off, that's why TT is known as a duel threat type of guy.  TT didn't show me that he is a top rated pocket passer Saturday; the offense becomes so much more dangerous when he is back there and then goes right up the middle for 6-8 yards.  It probably makes a linebacker have to Mark him meaning that the tight ends even have a greater opportunity to romp.

IMO at two touchdowns up, Vick should have gone in to the game on the final drive.  2 reasons, avoid injury to TT and add that other dimension while giving the lad experience when it was still somewhat critical to protect the ball and burn clock.
