Anyone with ties to the Marching 110 know if they plan to perform Gangnam Style, and if so, when?

For those unfamiliar, Gangnam Style is basically this year's Party Rock Anthem, its this really odd yet frustratingly catchy song by a Korean pop star named Psy. The video was uploaded on 7/15 and is already approaching 225 million views. Like Party Rock it has its own dance that would be perfect for the 110.

I bet we could sell out Peden just by announcing that they were performing it.

Here's the vid for the curious- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0&feature=p...

I doubt they'll play the song, due to the difficulty of making a good arrangement of a rap song, but I'd be very surprised if some of those dance moves didn't make it in to a dance at some point this season.

Thanks for posting. The video helps explain a skit from the season premier of Saturday Night Live this past weekend. I had no idea what I was watching and felt really old and out of touch with current popular music.

Speaking of the 110, solid performance of Motownphilly by Boyz II Men at Marshall last Saturday.  By adding playlists from 1990's hip hop/R & B, I have a renewed hope that we can hear some Snoop Dogg or Dr. Dre in Peden someday.

I've been waiting for 20 years to hear them play Gin & Juice or Nuthin' But A G Thang.  Fingers crossed.

Actually he went to Boston University, not College.   He also studied at Berklee School of Music, not even joking.

In response to the Gin and Juice reply, I was in the 110 when we did that. We didn't play Snoop Dogs version. We played the Ska version. However, I wouldn't put it past the abilities of Dr. Suk and this years graduate assistants to be able to pull off Gangnam Style without a hitch.

Jason Arkley@JasonAmessenger

Crowd should be good, pushing close to the 24K again at Peden. Also, google Gangnam Style; Will help appreciate Marching 110's new stuff

I guess it's a good economic sign that a country flushed with crap is beginning to import more. Kinda like the Macarena in the DotCom 90s. Or Rock Me Amadeus in the Go-Go Eighties. Boom times are a-comin' people...

Downside are there are some that get their bags all riled up as they furiously espouse their mantras of "Keep Crap American" or "Keep Your Korean Hands Off Our American Crap."

It is a pretty catchy tune.  I know that if any band could pull it off, it would be the 110.  HI-O!
