There is no doubt that during the next five weeks the MAC is going to be very interesting. Toledo knocks of Cincinnati; Kent drubs WMU; Marshall killing So. Miss; Penn St. is drubbing Iowa; Louisville just gets by USF.(BSU had no problems with USF.
There is no doubt that the MAC is very strong and the coaches throughout the country has to recognize this at some point of time. We should have at least three teams in the top 25!!

Both NIU and Toledo should move up in the coaches poll this week, hopefully not at our expense. Western KY and Iowa St were both ahead of them in that poll and both lost today. I'm surprised neither has shown up in the AP poll, although Toledo at least ought to be there this week.

I saw a bit of NIU and of kents today. I thought NIU was quite good, kents was solid but not as good.

OUr road ahead is just the way Coach Solich would like it: a succession of "single-elimination" dates en route to the MACC. Well, sort of. Experts correct me if I don't have this right:
IF we win our games vs. Miami, BG and Kent, we represent the East provided we go 1-1 vs. EMU and Ball State, as we would hold at the very least a head-to-head edge vs. Kent (and everyone else would have at least two losses).
I know what you are thinking: What the heck is this troll doing talking about losses when OUr thinking is how far we can rise in the Top 25? Well, I'm sorry I can't get fixated on that sort of thing. We have five dates that each in its own way is a hurdle we must navigate to take care of Unfinished Business.
As for the polls, do not be surprised if our bye week combined with Toledo's fine win elevates the Rockets past us into the Top 25.
But that does not matter! It is all about taking care of business beginning on Saturday!

I might agree if our quality win didn't just steamroll Iowa.
