Ohio is a better place than Fiami we all know that..OUr team is better and is light years ahead of those 1-6 against us clowns. I see no reason to panic because yes we had a brief stay in the top 25 but you cannot measure the effect all the publicity and attention has had worldwide. I'm still very much excited and 1,2,3,4,6 games wont diminsh the quality of our coaches and players that we have out there. I'm okay with Coach going for the win and letting TT do what he does best because if IF Weller had missed the kick some would say "oh we had time for one more play" GO CATS!!

Sorry it's hard to get excited at all about the brief stay in the top 25 because it's as good as a punchline at this point when you can't even last one game against a bad team. Yeah, the publicity was nice... some of it...but much of it was making fun of our schedule and our performance against it.

As tough as the last play was -- and I absolutely agree with the take one shot at the endzone approach -- it's a bottom line issue.  two field goals against Miami in that second half.

two. field. goals.

I have to step in here and give a little credit where it is due. Miami is not a horrible football team. While the reality is that OUr team has more "winning pieces" in place, Miami is NOT a horrible football team. Do I need to say that again?

The fact that we were able to "shut down" Zac Dysert following a start that was disturbingly familiar is quite encouraging (almost as encouraging as the disturbing familiarity of the first quarter or so).

As for mockery: The Internet is an incubator and through-putter of profound blowhardery. If there are two conferences that are better than the "gassing" they are the MAC and Sun Belt. Look, there are most of a handful of teams you don't want to have on your schedule if you want to have a reasonable chance of winning on Saturday (or on some other designated day for the benefit of TV). But that list is short. Very short.

The overwhelming number of match-ups could go one way or the other based on a long list of tangible and intangible factors. There is hardly ever a MAC match that a wise man bets the ranch on -- for reasons that are both tangible and intangible. While there are probably thousands of barrels more vitriol at fan sites than there are on football rosters, make no mistake about the significance of "Ohio vs. Miami" to the players. It's a rivalry to everybody. And rivalries produce crazy games that do not equal the tangibles.

So let's tone down the rheteric concerning the suckiness of Miami. It merely results in a backhanded insult to OUrselves! Give them some credit, even if it hurts like hell to do so (which it does).

And so many think we will not be there again.  We can get back there again this year, and I fully expect us to return there next year when we return the best backfield in the MAC.  Yes, I'm disappointed we did not win and stay/move up.  But folks need to stop acting like this was our only shot - this team and program are here to stay.  Thanks Coach, TT and the rest of the players/coaches.  Keep it up!

The other thing I find "solich" in (yes, a lame pun) is that while many other MAC teams have cracked the top 25 few have sustained the success for years to come.  I won't be shocked if we crack the list again next year.
