Disappointed with our loss to the RedHeads but we're still getting votes and visibility in today's AP Top 25.  There are 4 MAC teams receiving votes, led by Toledo knocking on the doorstep at #26.

Our 4 MAC teams are ranked higher than any 4 Big 10 teams.  Sweet.

Others receiving votes: Toledo 88, Rutgers 74, Oklahoma State 72, Texas 55, Kent State 33, Tulsa 17, Northern Illinois 12, Washington 8, Northwestern 7, Ohio 4, Wisconsin 4, Michigan 2, Louisiana-Monroe 1

The way this season is going, many teams ahead of us will lose 1 or 2 more.  Big prizes for the Cats still on the horizon.  Just win, baby, just win.

One bowl projection site has us playing in the Pinstripe Bowl (NYC) versus Iowa State. The Pinstripe Bowl has a payout of $2,000,000, which is much larger than any of the three MAC-affiliated bowls.

Trying to look on the bright side of yesterday's loss -- maybe by not winning, we actually win something better?

Nebraska is #21 in AP and USAT.

Correct, but that's only OSU, Nebraska and Northwestern in AP.  Michigan and Wisconsin tied or lower than the 4 MAC schools in AP.

Harris poll has us higher than Wisconsin.

Things could be so much worse...

Rankings
CBSSPORTS.COM 124 AP COACHES HARRIS
23 35 36 34

Win out and there's still a chance to be ranked by the time we go to our bowl game.

Regardless of how you feel about Saturday's loss, you have to be impressed with the play of the MAC this season. Having four teams with only one loss and getting votes is huge for this league.

Ohio, Kent State, BG, Ball State, NIU and Toledo are a combined 42-8.

I believe all six of those have beaten a BCS school except BG.
