Today, I'm wearing my Marshall ball cap as a way to honor all 75 victims of the crash. Today, though, I particularly remember Jeff Nathan, the sports editor of The Parthenon, who perished 53 years ago on that fateful day when the Southern Airways chartered jet that carried the team, coaches, administrators and some fans crashed as it approached Tri-State Airport. He was not only a student, but a friend. I have established an endowed scholarship in sports writing in his honor.
