45-14! That should definitely show the Voters last week was a fluke!

That's what you're supposed to do against bad teams and what they should have done leading into the Miami game. Great to see.

As I posted in the other thread, they didn't do anything particularly dramatic - it was a workman line win. They just wore EMU down, and then made them pay. In games like that you see a similar pattern. The losing team is OK in the first quarter, and the first half of the second quarter, but loses badly in the last half of the second quarter. After a rest at the half, the losing team is OK for the first half of the third quarter, but then it's all downhill. That's what you saw tonight. though the break points were a bit after the midpoint of the 2d and 3d quarters.

LC is right.  This is typ[ical Big10 or SEC stuff.  Even a Vandy or UK or IND or ILL can play for a quarter or so but in the end, they get worn down and lose.

Not to take anything away from our guys -- it was a great effort -- but EMU is really lacking in fundamentals.  Their tackling is just awful, and they were missing blocks all night.  It's pretty bad when your coach has to cut halftime short by six minutes to come out and do 7 on 7s.  I don't know how they scored 47 against Toledo; 48 against Army I could see.  I think it's great that we won big tonight, but next week won't be so easy.

Let's not forget that three weeks ago this EMU team lost to Toledo 52-47. Nice game Bobcats!

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled with the "W" - but EMU is a terrible team. I'd argue that they're the worst one on the schedule this year, outside of maybe Norfolk State. And with this schedule, that's saying a lot.

There's nothing that we could have done tonight to impress me. But we took care of business - and that's what we needed to do. Three very tough teams await...I hope we're ready!

I agree with everything you wrote excpet that nothing impressed me. I was impressed with the way Vick and Daz ran the ball, handed the game, and scored. EMU knew we were going to run the ball and both averaged over 10 yards a carry. Yes, there were some missed tackles, but I was still impressed with this. I think we are in good hands for the next few years. Not just based on tonight's performances, but when they have gotten chances to perform this year, they have done so superbly.

Good win but I do have some concerns. EMU had a lot of success running around the ends. OUr punting game is still Very suspect. More dropped passes, and passes bit off target.

I like the way the second string came in at the end and took it to them.

Gotta say I'm a bit surprised about the "ho-hum, that's what we should have been doing" commentary.

This was very solid win against a team that yes, has holes, particularly on D, but who put up big points on Toledo.  33 more points to be exact.

The Cats responded well to the loss.  The Tet Offensive made plays with his arm and his feet.  Foster and Futrell came up big.  Both Blankenship and Boykin ran hard and put up big numbers as we should against this D.

But the best news was the overall play of the D.  Yes, we gave up some 4th ands and allowed them some drives, but made the big play or sack/INT when we needed it.

That's two straight games where the D has played very well in the second half.  They've given up 3 points in 4 second half quarters.  Good to see.

Go Cats.  Students and SE Ohio...get out to that last home game against BG.  Growl like the Cats you are!

Yeah...EMU's just a glorified high school team...

Toledo and Michigan State must have just not dressed their first string...It's the only explanation...

I mean yeah we won...But what did we really accomplish?

8 & 1?  Big deal...

When you really break it down by our remaining schedule, we only beat EMU by 10 more than BG, 20 more than Ball State and 4 more than Kent.  Not to mention only 26 more than Toledo and 15 more than Michigan State.

GREAT win Cats!

Rest up fellas...I hear there's a Black Out comin...Enter Vader...

Good win and our ability to handle them better than Toledo, BG and Ball State did is encouraging.

Fun fact for our season so far-

18- total wins of our first 9 competitors
19- total wins of our next 3 competitors

let go Cats!
