Oct. 29, 2012

Bobcat Fans,

What a season it has been!  The Ohio Football team has been playing very well and we are excited for the remaining two home games of 2012.  Thank you for all of your support so far this season.  Our team could not have achieved all it has this year without you, the best fans in the MAC!  We wanted to take this opportunity to talk to you specifically about the upcoming Eastern Michigan game on November 1st.

This will be our first nationally televised cable home game of the year and it is set to kick off at 6PM.  We are excited for the opportunity to play the Eagles on ESPNU.  The early game time is a unique circumstance and we ask for your patience as we plan and prepare for this.

During the week faculty, staff, and students use what we refer to as donor and game day lots for purposes of work and attending class.  Due to the change to semesters, classes run later in the day and could potentially effect parking this coming Thursday.  We are working with our colleagues on campus to ensure that every fan can access the donor or game day lot in which your Ohio Bobcat Club permit allows.

Those planning on attending the Ohio v Eastern Michigan game please note the following donor parking areas will begin allowing those with Ohio Bobcat Club parking permits at the below times:

  • Pepsi TailGreat Park will open at 10AM
  • The Green, Orange, and Black lots will open at 3PM
  • The Blue lot will open at 4PM

Game Day pay to park lots will open beginning at 4:30PM.

In the event that the parking lot you intended on parking in has reached capacity, the parking attendant will direct you to the nearest available lot to park.  As an additional service to our fans, Parking Services will be running shuttles from the West Green remote game lots beginning at 4:30PM.  These shuttles will drop off and pick up fans in the Orange Lot until 2 hours after the conclusion of the game.   We ask for your patience as we work around the issues of an early kick off on a week night.

Again, we cannot thank you again for all of your past and future support.  We truly appreciate what you do for us and look forward to seeing you at Peden Stadium on November 1.

My guess is that there is no chance Tailgreat Park opens at all for this game.  It will simply be too wet to park cars in there.

Me hopes the parking nazis aren't out in  full force for those of us who will arrive around 3 pm or so.

If you get here at 3, you can park in the purple lots for free, assuming they don't ban that.

I have to assume there will be a lot like me travelling from out of town, scrambling to finish work and get down to Athens in time to get parked and in Peden before the ridiculous early game start time. At least I'll miss the cluster at I/270 & 33 before normal rush "hours".

However - I'll bet anything that I get in and parked Faster than I did at Fiami - talk about a friggin' cluster - that was a joke - further proof that Fiami Sucks!

RSB-you are correct on that Miami game day parking.  I have never driven in such a game day disaster.  No traffic patterns, no flow and no signage to speak of anywhere.  Now we are seeing another problem with the MAC.  So many places just don't have adequate parking for "smallish" crowds little lone big ones!
