seems like being ranked is toxic for mac teams.  so does this mean that if OU makes it back to the MACC, we're probably playing NIU?

It doesn't change anything. The MAC West champion will still be the winner of the NIU-Toledo game, unless Toledo beats NIU, but loses to Akron.

While it may or may not really matter next week, I was excited to see BSU pull off this win.  I would much rather have the cats going into a visiting stadium against a team coming off a big high than a bad loss.  Had they lost to Toledo we could have had a larger bullseye on our backs.

All of this being said I am fully anticipating a very tough game in Muncie next week!
