I've noticed I'm not the only one saying "we've got other things to worry about" and when I stopped to think about it, I couldn't put my finger on one thing.  Yes, punting was the biggest issue yesterday, but overall what has been our biggest problem the last few weeks?

Don't forget playcalling, even TT is yelling at the coaches at plays called at the wrong time.

I didn't watch the game last night but from the sounds of things the biggest problems seem to be the inability to be successfully able to get a punt off and the huge amount of injuries.  The lack of being able to punt is the most embarrassing.

Playing 3 games in 12 days is one problem.  Not going to say that is our only problem, but it sure does suck.

Do we have any say in this, we being Schaus/Frank, playing all of these weekday games?  It's all well and good to be on TV but I think that I would rather have time to rest between games, especially if we go on TV and thoroughly soil ourselves.

No. Conference schedule is set by the MAC offices. And I'm pretty pissed that we got 3 games in 12 days while BG got an 11 day layoff before last night

It's a combination of both attitude and Xs and Os right now.

Attitude
Gameplan
3 Games in 12 Days
Multiple Players out for the season
Terrible Punt Team (Gameplan)
TT's got something wrong either upstairs or physically

One thing I am not sold on that other seem to be is talent. We have played several MAC Teams that have a bigger and faster front seven without question. I also think our OL cannot perform when tapping the second team level (injuries).
All in...it was a bummer to see what took place last night. I really hoped we would approach and win this game similar to Temple in past years.

Injuries are a big part of it, but think about how many leaders we lost.  Guys likes Noah Keller, Riley Dunlop, and LaVon Brazill all graduated. It's been difficult for me to follow the players because year-by-year, it was always the same guys. Now when the ball is caught, I don't always recognize who the guy is catching it. Do we really have a big play threat? Brazill was obviously one. But before him, Terrance McCrae and Taylor Price were threats to stretch the field. Our big threat right now is to rip off long run plays. For the record, I think Tettleton may still have something wrong with him. He doesn't run the ball a lot anymore. I kept waiting for him, last night against BG, to fake and take off with it, but he seems to be protecting himself.

This......I know I am going to get flamed here but right now I think our biggest problem is the QB....

I dont care what anyone says...something is wrong....something has changed in the last 3 games.... and for me it started in Oxford where TT was screaming at the sidelines seemingly about the playcalls....there is a disconnect there.

And I know what the story was at FIAMI, but how many times late in the game last night did TT just seemingly give up on the play and start running around like a chicken with his head cut off???  STEP UP INTO THE POCKET!!!! I know their Dline was all over us as if we were setting a screen every play but there were some pockets TT bailed on and never let his WR's routes develop.

Dont get me wrong I know the rest of OUr ship has many leaks in it but even if we fixed all those leaks...without someone to captain the ship (QB), we would just end up running into the next iceberg down and sink all over again.......

Besides injuries:

pass rush (all season)
tackling (ditto)
O line (BG game)
qb (recently)
desire (BG game)
game prep and play calling
punting unit (need to just run a play on 4th down and forget trying to punt, at least we won't go backwards).

Other than that, we're doing fine.

It's apparent TT's confidence in his coaches and his line has wained.

Confidence, snap, energy!

We have plenty enough of everything else...everything else can be fixed over a week of practice  We've prevailed other times when we had 3 games in 11 or 12 days.

We need to attack on O and D, at least some of the time.  We are way too passive--takes our players and crowd out of the game.

I didn't listen or watch the game last night because it was blacked out, so i watched tonight. Unfortunately I saw the score today, though, so I knew how it would turn out. The game followed a pattern I have seen many, many times before, but usually from the other side. It was identical to the PSU and EMU game, and a pattern I have seen many, many times before. One team starts well, but runs out of gas midway through the second quarter. After the half, they are rested again, and come out strong, but it doesn't last long, and by midway in the third, it's all over.

Against EMU and Penn State, Ohio did that to them. Against BG, it was done to Ohio. Ohio just looked tired. They were beaten in the trenches on both sides of the ball, and they weren't making enough plays. Regarding comments on TT, he looked tired, too, whether physically or emotionally. Three games in 12 games is not a good idea. Football is a very taxing game, and it takes time for the body to recover and be ready for the next one. There is a reason for having a week between games, normally. It is very unfortunate that Ohio had the short week, while BG had a week and a half.

Life goes on. Time to regroup and prepare for Ball State. Ohio will be an underdog in both remaining games. Let's hope they can win one or both. There isn't anything wrong that a normal week rest won't fix. Just two more regular season games - Let's make them ones to remember.

Gotta wonder why it took 4 times of disaster to go to a more traditional style of punting.  Special team coach needs to be  gone. Didn't Miami block a punt too. Wasn't the first time this happened. That should have been clear that the style of punting and the protection were not right
