Playing 3 games in 12 days is one problem. Not going to say that is our only problem, but it sure does suck.
I didn't listen or watch the game last night because it was blacked out, so i watched tonight. Unfortunately I saw the score today, though, so I knew how it would turn out. The game followed a pattern I have seen many, many times before, but usually from the other side. It was identical to the PSU and EMU game, and a pattern I have seen many, many times before. One team starts well, but runs out of gas midway through the second quarter. After the half, they are rested again, and come out strong, but it doesn't last long, and by midway in the third, it's all over.
Against EMU and Penn State, Ohio did that to them. Against BG, it was done to Ohio. Ohio just looked tired. They were beaten in the trenches on both sides of the ball, and they weren't making enough plays. Regarding comments on TT, he looked tired, too, whether physically or emotionally. Three games in 12 games is not a good idea. Football is a very taxing game, and it takes time for the body to recover and be ready for the next one. There is a reason for having a week between games, normally. It is very unfortunate that Ohio had the short week, while BG had a week and a half.
Life goes on. Time to regroup and prepare for Ball State. Ohio will be an underdog in both remaining games. Let's hope they can win one or both. There isn't anything wrong that a normal week rest won't fix. Just two more regular season games - Let's make them ones to remember.
