If I read this right, this was a great deal.  They said the highest out of the 5 smaller conferences will get a spot regardless of ranking.  That's a better deal than we get with the BCS, where the criteria is stricter.

The schools who are really put out are the independents.  BYU and Navy may be forced to join a conference.  Idaho and New Mexico State are also potentially on the outside looking in if they go independent.
