In 2010, they went 11-3, and won the MAC West.  Then their coach moved to Minn.  Despite this, in 2011 they went 11-3, and won the MACC.  Then their star QB graduated and went to the NFL.  Despite this, in 2012 they're 10-1 and have won the MAC West for the third straight year.  With three different coach/QB combinations they're 32-7 the past three years, with three MAC West titles and a MAC championship.  And all this in the MAC's tougher division (based on W-L record in conference games).  Few programs could survive such turmoil, let alone thrive.  They deserve a lot of credit.

I agree. As a matter of fact, Ohio has gotten much of the love as the "pride of the MAC", but in reality, I think NIU really should have been getting more of the attention.

This is a fan base that is convinced the city of Toledo conspired to arrest and convict one of their players.

the way they not only justified, but celebrated one of their players in full pads injuring a female Toledo band member was grotesque. some of their comments were truly disgusting and I have no respect for them.

I will give credit where it's due- they have a terrific program right now.

They're still somewhere between Miami and Marshall (tied with Akron) on my most hated list.

Yep. And they make Toledo out to be the villain in the story. It's incredible. Worst fans in the MAC.

That is funnny. Most fanbases say that about Bobcat fans.

I like to think we have much to crow about and tell them to suck it.

Coach Doeren seems very solid.  The best thing he has done so far is staying the course.  He seems someone who will run a great program.  Ohio fans can hope he will get an offer he can't refuse, Auburn should be about ready to buy out Gene Chizek. This year is penance for winning the Cam Newton lottery.
