Most voted parochial interests -- UConn's coach didn't have NIU on his ballot but put Kent in at 20 -- but many seemed to vote their conscience. It's not mentioned here but I read somewhere that Dick Novak put them at 16. Maybe a harbinger of the Orange's outcome: former Iowa St coach Jim Walden put them at 9 in the Harris Poll, highest of anybody in either poll. In 2006 he was the only voter to put Florida #1 over O$U. Florida beat O$U for the championship that year, 41-14.
