Something I haven't seen before.  After going 4-8, UVA kept their head coach, but fired four assistants he hired when he took over in '09 and released one of their frontline QBs from his scholarship, at his request.  Usually, when this many assistants go, the head coach goes first.  Of course, they wished all those leaving the best in their future endeavors.

As a kid who grew up right outside of CVille and a UVA fan, WHY? Rocco was their best QB, and Sims doesn't pass. This reminds me of the Glennon/Taylor snafu at VTech a few years ago. grrrr.

As a UVA Dad, and a big UVA fan, I agree fully that Rocco was the better quarterback.  Both are talented, but london made a huge mistake of platooning these guys all year.  He needed to pick the QB that won the starting QB role at the beginning of the season, Rocco, and get that QB the vast bulk of all work with the first team during practice.  Platooning undermined the timing of the QB and the ability of the receivers to be fully accustomed to the type and speed of the throws that the QB was sending their way.  Sims, a transfer from Alabama, rather than a blessing for UVA, undermined the chemistry on the team.  I believe that if Sims never came, UVA would have been bowling with OHIO.  Glad OHIO, is bowling.  I would have been in attendence if they were in the Military Bowl, but will have to settle for a game watch!
