Are all players who entered the transfer portal no longer eligible to play in the bowl game?
If this is true then our chances of winning the game will be dramatically decreased.

I just noticed that the spread changed today from Ohio -2.5 to Ohio +3.5.
Obviously, the portal announcements is the cause for this change.

Why bother watching the game. Why are we playing this game. Half our starting offense quit on this team. The TV networks wrecked college football with this semi pro crap. NCAA lost control of this. I refuse to watch any bowl games in protest. MAC needs to drop down to FCS where the post season still matters and players still care. This was last straw. Don't bother coming to Ohio if you aren't a bobcat forever. MAC has become a junior college league where it is 2 and done.

It used to be you entered the portal if you didn't play. Now it's the opposite.

And the crazy thing is, NIL’s are prohibited from limiting a player to a school. So someone like Dillon Gabriel could take his Oklahoma collective $, keep it, and double dip at his new school.

the courts essentially started the transfer portal by consistently striking down the NCAA rule that required an athlete to sit. You can google Tom Mars, he is responsible for basically single handedly forcing this issue.

Honestly, the further this goes the more my mind is changed in the other direction.

It always made me mad that kids couldn't transfer without penalty after a coach left or something, but then they got pretty lax with that and I thought it was fine.

Kids jumping in and out every year is insane.

There has to be some line. I don't think sitting a year is that bad of a penalty. It just makes you stop and think a little more, before you just give it up and move on. They still accept hardship waivers, so you're never truly stuck. There has to be SOME level of academics in this. There should be a responsibility of the NCAA to TRY even if faux-trying, to say you need to have at least 1 full year of transferable credits to transfer to another D1 institution. Something.

I mean, Tristan Cox - I'm not sure what this kid is chasing, but he's getting bad advice from someone. At this point he's probably not going to graduate from anywhere before he runs out of eligibility. And that is absolutely tragic. You're getting free school, but not staying anywhere long enough to get credits. 3 colleges in 3 years is not what this should be about, and that's what it becomes. He came from Purdue. Probably thinks he should be the baddest dude on the block in the MAC. He gets here and can't get off the bench, because OU already has some bad dudes in front of him. Instead of staying and fighting - it's where can I go now? They disrespected me. Now where else can I go?

Yost wants to open this entire thing up, with unlimited transfers. Have to wonder with the timing of this, if he's being influcened by someone with some clout in the Akron area?

One thing that many of you probably do not know, is that these kids who graduate lose any Pell money that they were receiving. In some cases that is substantial, and that is why they enter the Portal, trying to make up what they lost by graduating. Sometimes, that loss is significant.
