Why don’t we raise some money to send the entire 110 to our bowl game which I don’t think ever happens.
Is there some logical reason other than money to prevent that? Those in the know jump in! I’ll call them on Friday.

Or raise money to support the coaches by providing resources for NIL deals.

It’s a choice we each can make.
It makes little sense to me that the 110 can’t go to the bowl game. Let’s face it, they’re a big draw for fans and help the overall fan experience.

How many Ohio fans are thinking I'd spend several hundred dollars to go to the bowl game if the 110 was going but since they won't be there I won't?

The entire band goes if it’s able to be reached by bus, and a pep band if it’s by plane.

Last year OU paid for 96 students to go to the Arizona Bowl (all Juniors and Seniors) and 25 more students paid their own way to be there.

Add this to the worlds longest list of reasons lower tier bowls should be regional.

We could say that about alternate uniforms, an inflatable Bobcat head, a big scoreboard, a cannon, cheerleaders, professional announcers, color analysts, coaches call-in shows, press conferences, Youtube feeds 10 people actually watch and food spreads for fans at road events.

What an awful way to make every decision.

At the end, you’re left with soulless Wednesday night broadcasts on ESPNU no one is watching and a check that doesn’t even cover the expenses.

This was supposed to be fun.

What a Debbie Downer mood you are in today. I really enjoyed our second half comeback. Seemed the coaches knew what adjustments to make at halftime and how to inject a little more motivation into the players. Yes, I would have preferred a victory over Miami, but I do like the way we’ve ended the season.

It would help the cause if the band would get some TV exposure beyond the occasional ten-second shot of them playing in the stands at commercial breaks. Unfortunately, halftime of most of the earlier bowls is filled with talking heads prattling on ad nauseum about the four teams in the playoff. Arguably worse than the Macy or Rose parades, where at least they're on for an entire number on two or three national networks.

The only bands that get any kind of air time for half time are Grambling and Southern.

Neither of which are anywhere near as god as they used to be.

OCF- yes the second half play at Akron was much better. Nine wins and some are still complaining. Many of us are old enough to remember the 0 and 1 win seasons. Some do not appreciate what they have.

Or raise money to support the coaches by providing resources for NIL deals.
Yes BTC that is 100% correct!

Its not that easy to do.

Perfect example is Rutgers.

They're in the B1G and in the NYC Metropolitan area.

Their boosters tried to create an NIL "co-op".

Not doing much.

In fact, a couple of weeks ago their coach said in an article
that one of their issues with recruiting is not being able to
offer big NIL deals.

Yeah, tough market, and they have the tougher task of recruiting against other B10 schools. We don't have that problem, but we do need to try and be the best at our level, which should propel us to greater heights.

You mean fun like barely starting a second page for Men's BB games fun, as we have been doing regularly this season? OUr beloved anchor sport fun and complaining about the MAC MBB anemic conference rating fun?

Isn't the game the morning after finals end and the same time ~ as winter graduation? I know it's on the big ESPN and there is $$ at stake but do they really expect many people to show up for this?

It's close to a 5 hour drive for the Georgia Southern people, so I'm not sure how good they will turn out.

I mean I will say, if some of the non-chosen 110 members need a place to crash prior to gameday or post-game (in Charlotte), am open to helping. Basically open apt until new roommate moves in.

With the transfer portal humming, at this rate we may need some 110 members to suit up on offense in Myrtle Beach.

What does that have to do with people choosing to give their money to the band rather than the NIL.

The point is the garnishes matter, too. Without them you have a really mediocre football product that is playing a 6-6 team in America’s shittiest vacation destination.

I call bullshit. We went 9-3 and EARNED a bowl appearance. How is Myrtle Beach America's shittiest vacation spot? We've played bowls in Boise twice, which I'm sure is a swell city, but outdoors in late December?

I have said for years that the entire university is missing out on this concept. When the football team plays away games, we need to have 110 concerts in Peden at Frank Solich Field. Their popularity and the fact that people come to see the band and travel to see the band is a way to make extra revenue, and drive more attendance. Maybe we can get ESPN+ to broadcast the EVENT? Then we do not have to worry about medicore football games, or teams! We always have the 110, and that with an enlarged stadium for concerts will make us pioneers.

FYI:
The entire Marching 110 will be climbing into busses and going to the bowl game.
