Gonna go ahead and say this is the coaching shock of the year. The Arkansas coaching job is SEC, and Biel has an 8 win Wisconsin team, kinda figured he was hoping to get the Iowa job, but Arkansas looks as good or better. But Texas Tech to Cincy, that is a head turner.

Of course, TTU AD is Kirby Hocutt, maybe that explains it.

Maybe he thinks Cincy is headed for the Big 12 or the SEC.

After 12-12 over the past two seasons, his job might've hinged on the Meineke Bowl.  Better to get out on your own terms.

We should all thank Coach Frank for being loyal and sticking to with the Bobcats and building our program to where it is today. Being a UC fan with our coaching carousel Tommy's experience can take the program to the next level. I am sure Frank could have jumped ship with his Success at Nebraska and at Ohio.

Not sure Frank as marketable as you might think, given his arrest in year one plus age.

Other schools have been interested in Frank.  He has not been interested in moving.  The Incident, referred to above, is seen as an anomaly not as some kind of albatross around his neck.  It's not like Coach HuggyBear at UC, now of WVU fame, who has had numerous such incidents. He's even had another incident just recently.

If UC WAS a destination job, why would they be replacing their coach, who just left for a different job?

I hear TT has in laws that live in SE Indiana and that his wife is happy to be closer to them.  If that is the case, he will be there a while if he has success.  Probably a Solich or Christian type hire for UC.  That probably means he'll surpass the three year mark the last three coaches have been gone by.

Loyal, he's 68 years old!!,!!!

I am not bemoaning him or being critical, just giving an honest perception as I see it. No one is hiring a 68 year old coach to build a program.

From what I know, I'd disagree. Frank has given us good service, but he's turned no jobs or offers down to stay here. SBH is on to something with his statements above.

Isn't TT the school that Holcutt bolted to from Miami?

Tommy Tuberville, Frank Solich and Terry Bowden coach in Ohio. It's becoming the Del Boca Vista retirement community of college coaching. Just waiting for Tressel to join the shuffleboard league.

He probably was also feeling the heat after he assaulted one of his assistants during a game.
