Going to 4 bowls in a row looks good to that recruit still on the bubble.   It's a nice recruiting tool for us.

I think this is about as good a matchup as we could expect.  For Christmas, I just hope all the players get mentally and physically healthy for the game.

And, by the way, six other MAC teams are getting the same advantages of going bowling as OHIO!

Actually, after the way the season ended, it's better than I hoped for.  ULM is a very good team and the bowl has earned a lot of respect through the years.  It was the site of the famous "snow bowl" game between Tx AM & Miss St that was commemorated this year.  I don't see us having a problem getting mentally ready.  It's the physical part that concerns me.  Looking forward to a great game.

If you have enough bowl games, somebody has to play them.

Winning two in a row would be even better!

Saying it's the greatest thing since sliced bread doesn't help Ohio either.

I'm happy they are going to a bowl, but also understand the empathy.

It's all a matter of perspective, guys.  If we had started 1-4 and finished 8-4, we'd be happy as clams to go to a bowl.  But the way the last three weeks went, it's hard to get excited.  Give it time.

As much as I like the idea of playing in a bowl, the thought of being embarrassed on national TV is not something I want to see. I hope we do well, but seeing the list of "out for the season" players  it's hard to think we will see anything more than we saw the last few weeks of the season.

I'm definitely happy OHIO is in a bowl.  It would be nice to go somewhere you could fly for less than $700. Sorry, but the situation makes me appreciate Detroit.

This ^. Hope they can show up and make it a game.

However, I thought "Hope" was a place in Arkansas, not Louisiana...............

It can't go any worse than the New Orleans Bowl, right? RIGHT???

We could be Nebraska in the Big Ten championship.  That would be worse.

I read on the wire that we got the nod because Louisiana Tech didn't pull the trigger fast enough. Does anyone know if that's true?

My point earlier is that there is now 35 bowls. Bowl inflation. Seven MAC schools going bowling. It's like the two new basketball post season tournaments, College Insider and whatitsname tourney. I guess it's better than nothing, but what Northern is doing, man that's something to sing about for a MAC program.

That appears to be true. The La Tech AD said as much and it makes sense the I-Bowl would want that matchup. Otherwise, it appears as though Ohio was headed for the Military Bowl.

How can you not be happy that we're in a bowl game? It provides a great experience for our players and staff, and gives the team a chance to get better. I don't care how the year finished, I'd always rather be bowling.

We are now one of JUST 27 PROGRAMS that have gone to 4 straight bowl games. It's pretty elite company. In fact, the only non-BCS teams on that list are NIU, SMU, Air Force, BYU, Boise State and Nevada.

Anybody think that was possible a few short years ago?
