I just wanted to wish all of you who are coming to Shreveport a safe and hassle free trip!  I think you will find our fans and Alumni to be very welcoming to all Bobcat Fans.  How many do you guys figure to bring to Shreveport by the way?

Thanks for the greetings.  I extend the same to you, your team and fans.   I'm not sure how many Ohio fans will be making the trip.  A lot of our fans were very bummed out about the way we limped to the finish line and fan intensity markedly cooled as the team cooled.  Much of our woes at the end of the season had to do with an incredible number of injuries, particularly on defense.  I understand that you had a similar rash of injuries.  We will be getting some of our injured back for the bowl game, but many are done for the year.  Here's to an injury free bowl game!

I would be going to the game myself if it was one day later, but my eldest daughter is leaving about noon on the 28th, so we don't have enough time to make a 1:00 kickoff in Louisiana!

Well I hate you and many others can't make the trip.  I guess with the game being on a work day at 1 o'clock no less, it creates an issue for getting off work as many just simply can't.  That coupled with the pricey travel expense is just a bad formula for fan turnout.

As far as injuries go, we had a total of 7 starters out at one time including Kolton Browning for 2 games.  He is now back 100% and hope to have our hawk safety Mitch Lane back too.  We are without our #1 and #2 running backs Centarius Donald and Jyruss Edwards respectively but we have very talented depth at RB in Monterell Washington and Arkansas Transfer Mitchell Bailey just to name a couple.

I hear you guys have a very talented RB and your QB seems to be pretty darn talented too!  Overall, I think this will be a very evenly matched game and I too am hopeful for an injury free game.

May the best team on Dec. 28 take home that really nice trophy!!

Ohio would be delighted if only 7 players were out. I am hopeful that only 7 of the 22 starters miss the game, plus only 4 second team players who played considerably. Taken from the official thread, plus my additions:

OFFENSE - At least 10 out, 4 starters, 1 Captain
OL Eric Herman - Probable - Starter
OL Ryan McGrath - Out for season (leg) - Starter
OL Vince Carlotta - Out (concussion) - Starter
OL Matt Prichard - Out for season (knee) - Reserve
OL Sam Johnson - Questionable (ankle) - 2d Team
TE Jordan Thompson - Out for season (knee)
- Starter, Captain
TE - John Tanner - Out for season (shoulder) - Reserve
TE - Derick Robak - I thought he was out for the season - 2d string
WR Mario Dovell - Out for season (broken bone in leg) -
Starter
WR Landon Smith - Out for season (ankle) - 2d Team
WR Sebastian Smith - Out for Season (bone in leg) - Reserve
RB Ryan Boykin - Out for season (knee)
- 2d Team
PK - Josiah Yazdani - Out for Season 2d String

DEFENSE - Only 3 are confirmed out, all starters, one Captain, but at least 4 other starters have missed games, too
DT Neal Huynh - Questionable - Starter
DT - Carl Jone - Probable - Starter
DE Tremayne Scott - Questionable (foot) - Starter
S  Xavier Hughes - Out for season (shoulder) - Starter
CB Jamil Shaw - Out for season (shoulder) - Starter
CB  Travis Carrie - Out for season (shoulder) - Starter, Captain

The school sent at least 1200 to Mobile back in 2007 but that was the programs first bowl game in almost 40 years so our fans were very excited to play Southern Miss. The game in Mobile was accessible by more of our alumni in Georgia and Florida wanting to drive in. The bowl most of our fans were hoping for was the Military Bowl because of a large alumni base of 25,000 along the East Coast and DC is only a 6 hour drive from our campus in Athens. When you go to 4 straight bowl games the fans become a little spoiled in their expectations and forget they are missing a rare opportunity to be part of a bowl win if it happens. Ohio lost 4 of 5 in both football and basketball after starting 7-0 but a win in Shreveport and against Oklahoma the next night in basketball will get the excitement flowing again. The attitude in advance of the game in Boise was the same last year but that victory over Utah State was then touted as a main reason for an increase in season ticket sales for this season?
