I simply meant that most MAC schools are not in position to put $70 mil into a football stadium now.
Time will tell if this pans out for UC.
I know what you meant. I just think sometimes schools place too much emphasis on facilities and not enough on recruiting and other basics. Although a new or upgraded facility is a draw for a year or two, if a school can't field a competitive team (or for some, a winning team) the crowds will soon stay away.
This will buy you a 1-11 record........

I really do like their stadium. Peden Stadium is way out dated. It need some serious renovations in the future.
Oh it's definitely a nice venue!
I would not want to gut Peden or build something new as long as it is structurally sound. It has what I have heard described before as "good bones." From a distance it is attractive, just kind of drab up close in a few places.
It could be really improved with a lot of inexpensive cosmetic upgrades-in many cases simple things like a few coats of paint! Never would I want to make any changes that affect how well it blends/matches the other structures on campus. With a few exceptions all of main campus has a very similar structure to every building and I'm glad our athletic facilities follow suit. While I like the look of say Autzen Stadium at Oregon, it would clash with everything else in Athens in my opinion.
I'd be happy with some new concessions, restrooms, and maybe a more permanent spirit shop or something (that is open on non game days etc.). We could maybe possibly move the screen in the current score board (if it is not a custom made model) as a secondary screen and build a new, larger structure in its place.
We have improved the game day experience on the field. It's time to do the same elsewhere!
