This article does help explain the scheduling philosophy now that many have been complaining about.  The reason we don't play higher ranked BCS teams is that the Commisioner is asking ADs to stay away from them.  And I have to say this year his philosophy pretty much played out how he wanted with a record amount of non-conf wins and ranked teams.
