BGSU's is in HD. Why isn't ours? It's in widescreen SD which tells me whoever is in charge of it is an incompetent idiot.
We have the best telecommunications school in the state. We should be able to handle producing a simple ad in high definition. If you know who is responsible for this, please let me know; hell, I will personally convert the footage to format ESPN can air in HD. I don't care. I'm sick of us being embarrassed by the schools we play with our tiny tiny ad while everybody else's is in beautiful HD.
It's especially stupid because the POINT OF OUR NEW AD IS HOW GORGEOUS CAMPUS IS.

TB, I recorded the game. Where in the broadcast is the ad that you refer to? I'll check it out and then go see the appropriate person(s) on campus. This should be a very easy fix.

It was in the middle of halftime. 1:50 p.m. EDT.

My directo supervisor used to be in Commercial Operations, I'm sure she could point me in the right direction if you needed to find out who to contact here once you have the HD source material.

It's the fault of University Communications/Marketing. Not WOUB, Relentless, @EvanLShaw, Russ, Big Jim, Derek Scott, Frank Robertson, Rufus, Sir Wins-A-Lot, etc.
Call Scott Quad and tell them to do their jobs.

I'm glad someone brought this up.
This has driven me crazy forever.
I have to believe this is due to some channel somewhere in OUr marketing network that's not ready to convert to digital.
And, since there is no longer an FCC mandated "drop dead" date, this will never get fixed.
Seriously, it looks bush league.
I'm going to write Roderick an email and complain.
Feel free to join in.

Today's ESPN Plus/Regional coverage allowed for people to see our ad as well as a few other MAC schools who bought ad time. There was at least 1 other school in SD (Kent?), but only ours was all distorted and stretched vertically to make the girl on the screen look like a horse. It looks pretty damn bad.

Who gives a rats arse about HD? I didn't see the ad, but I bet their students are shown in Toledo colors! (and if they aren't then their marketing folks are as absent-minded as ours)

I only say this because I head one of only four remaining American Households without an HDTV.

I don't have one, though we're increasingly in the minority:

Is it at least hooked up to your VCR?
